About Treesong

Welcome! My name is Treesong. I'm an authortalk radio host, and Real-Life Superhero from Southern Illinois. My writing spans a wide range of genres including climate fiction, superhero fiction, science fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and beyond. I also publish a newsletter called Creative Climate that highlights climate fiction and other creative responses to the climate crisis.

So far, I've published four main books:

  • My first novel, Change is the story of a woman who stumbles into the midst of a hidden war between occult factions that are grappling with the root causes and dire consequences of climate change.
  • My second novel, Goodbye Miami, tells the story of an American climate refugee who flees Miami in the year 2030.
  • My third novel, Order, picks up where Change left off, exploring the story of Change from the perspective of leader of a secret society struggling to respond to the climate crisis.
  • My short story anthology, Cli-Fi Plus, offers a broad variety of takes on the theme of climate fiction.
I've been a fiction writer ever since I wrote my first Danny Dunn fanfics in middle school. When I went to college, I got involved in community activism and mostly put my writing career on the back burner. For the past decade, though, I've been creating a growing body of work that combines my interests in speculative fiction (sci-fi, fantasy, superheroes, etc.) with my concerns for environmental and social justice, especially climate justice.

Your support as a patron helps me to create more content and better content. The more support I get, the more time I'll spend on my writing. This will improve both the quantity and quality of my writing. It will also encourage me to continue and expand my work as a "Real-Life Superhero" -- serving my community and region through various volunteer efforts with an emphasis on climate justice.

I also enjoy receiving direct feedback from my Patrons about what you appreciate in my writing and what you're looking for in future works! I get some feedback from readers through social media and in-person events, but sharing my work through Patreon creates space for those conversations to expand and deepen..

Thank you for your support! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I always enjoy talking with my readers and am especially excited to interact with my Patrons.
Goals
$11.36 of $25 per month
I'm an avid reader. I generally read at least a few books each month. However, I don't usually take the time to write a detailed review. When I reach this goal, I'll write a new book review each month. The books reviewed will relate to my interests as an author: climate fiction, superhero fiction, science fiction, etc. Patrons who pledge $5 or higher can suggest books for me to review. Obviously, if I start getting dozens of requests each month, I may not review them all. But I'll do my best.
