Tricia Spencer & Howard Rains

Tricia Spencer and Howard Rains are traditional American folk music makers and visual artists who grew up in the music of their families. Tricia Spencer is a Kansas fiddler who grew up learning traditional fiddling knee to knee from her grandparents. Howard Rains is a native Texas artist and fiddler, now living in Kansas, who comes from a musical and artistic family.

When they met in 2012, they blended their fiddle sounds into a unique voice in old time music. In these videos, you will learn the parts that make up their lush twin fiddle sound. You will also get a peak into their lives making art and music together and with family.

Tricia and Howard regularly teach fiddle, guitar, and ukulele through private instruction and at camps and festivals across the United States and in Europe and Australia.

They continue to dedicate their time to learning, researching, and teaching music, raising kids, and growing together. You can find them on the road performing as a duo, with their family band, or with their old-time band, The Skeleton Keys.
