About Trinity County Vistor Center
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE TRINITY COUNTY VISITOR'S CENTER! WE ARE OFFICIALLY NOW A 501[C]!
Many services are provided by the Visitor Center to both tourists and locals. This includes but not limited to information about attractions to see, what to do, where to go and how to reach the desired destination, trail information, lakes and river information, maps, brochures, publications both local and regional, event information, calendar of events, phone numbers, relocation information and a place to sit, have a cup of coffee, cookies, a place to relax and answer their questions. The Visitor Center also helps with selling tickets for local events, plays, Trinity County Fair tickets and fundraisers. We help promote the events, support local organizations, businesses, and provide information on government agencies. The Visitor Center also maintains the Kiosk at Holiday Market. We have helped visitor’s book rooms to stay, book a rafting trip, a place to pan for gold, where to fish, an afternoon walk, and river access. We have also given information to people wanting to start a new business in Trinity County. The Visitor Center is also open during Art Cruise. We have a reception each month for our featured artist.
As volunteers we have gone beyond what are normal duties for a volunteer. We have purchased and delivered flowers for a family death, picked-up a purchase from a neighboring business and delivered the item and arranged transportation for a foreign visitor so they could make their flight. Working with the Forest Service we arranged to store food for a German hiker until his return from a hike in the Trinity Alps, picked up a Belgium hiker at the Canyon Creek trailhead and transport her back to Weaverville. Both hikers could not believe how nice people were in Trinity County and were going back to their native countries and let their friends know they should visit our area. Volunteers have given their own money to help a visitor pay for a bus ticket to reach their destination, or provided a snack and bottle of water.
The services mentioned above are only some of the services the Visitor Center has delivered. The volunteers feel we are the “Hub” of the community and should help with whatever is needed for the well-being of our county.
Your support and donations are needed. Please make a one time donation or become a monthly supporter of $5, $10, $25 or more.
