Rick Turoczy is creating connections in the Portland startup community

patrons

Some folks use their creativity to create great works of art, amazing literature, and timeless music. If I had my druthers, I'd use my creativity to write. But as luck would have it, my writing is awful. So I've chosen, instead, to use my creativity to help build community. Your patronage gives me more time and motivation to continue to do that community building.

For more than a decade, I've been writing about — and connecting dots in — the Portland startup community. But now — at a time when many of the motivations that inspired me to start Silicon Florist continue to be issues — I've decided that it's time to take that decade of experience and do more.

With your support, I'll be able to leverage my experience to provide even more value. And to engage our amazing community more effectively. And create more opportunities for valuable connections, both virtually and in real life.

I'm sincerely hoping you'll join me. So that you and I can make the Portland startup community even more collaborative and collegial.

So you're not really wanting to encourage me to continue doing stuff, but you're not really wanting me to stop either. It's cool. I'm indecisive too. I think.
Keep on keepin' on
$5 or more per month
If you've gotten some value out of the atrocious grammar and run-on headlines I've been composing for the past decade or you're simply looking to encourage me to continue writing about stuff, this is the level for you.
Helping you stay engaged in community
$25 or more per month
Maybe you've made it past the struggles of early stage. Maybe you've got the wherewithal to give a little bit more to help get this work done. And, most importantly, maybe you want to remain engaged in what's happening in the Portland startup community — even though your day-to-day focus makes that difficult at times. Support at this level and I'll make sure to keep you in the loop. With special updates for folks like you.
Kicking in as a corporation
$250 or more per month
Per the request of the community… If you feel like your entire company is getting some value out of the work I'm doing, here's an opportunity for your company to be a patron. (Includes the monthly recap I'll be providing to the $25 level.)
Looking for deal flow
$500 or more per month
It's a poorly held secret that every investor in the Portland startup ecosystem sees every single deal. Local FOMO? Nonexistent. But what if you're outside of the Portland startup community and you need a little insight? Well, I'd love to help. Because it benefits both our startups and you. And maybe creates a little more FOMO for the local investment community. So if you choose to support me at this level, you'll get both a monthly recap of what's happening in the community plus a list of companies seeking funding that may interesting to you and your firm.
Goals
98 of 100 patrons
When we hit 100 patrons (at any level), I'll schedule a special happy hour to celebrate. And once I recover from that, I'll schedule another happy hour that each and every one of the patrons will be invited to attend.
