Milestone Goals
Locals only!
This is about the amount I was going to seek in advertising. If I hit this amount it will eliminate the need to ever have sponsored messages or scripted "banter" to push someone else's product that I don't really believe in. I'll always take a few seconds at the start and end of each show for local advertisers but that's more about local support for business that support the arts, and never about the money.
Do it better!
With a budget like this I can afford better lighting. I'll do my best to make the videos as high quality as possible!
Do it better-er!
Instead of using the GoPros (which I love but they don't love the dimly lit indoor studio) I'll be able to afford some better cameras. HDSLR cameras like the Canon T3i are pretty affordable (all things considered) and can add a level of real quality that these bands deserve.
Now it's a job
This would be amazing if I could pull this off. But with a budget like this I can afford to take some time away and hit the road. I'll use this opportunity to seek bands from other music scenes across the country and take the show to bands all over the place!

Ugly Door Music Studio has one goal: better the local music community. We're using this podcast to showcase the great things our local artists are doing.
Every Monday at 10am a new episode gets released. Each episode covers the artists' background, recent works, influences, and goals. We always play a round of "Top 5" covering all sorts of topics, and there are live performances!
Performances are filmed using a few GoPro cameras which are then edited and added to the Ugly Door YouTube channel.
Making the show doesn't cost me much now that the initial investment is already made. I'm using thousands of dollars in microphones, mixers, software, etc to make everything sound as good as possible. But it is time consuming. It takes me a few hours to edit, bounce, and upload the audio followed by a few more hours to load, edit, export, and upload the video. Not to mention the monthly fees for hosting the files though Podbean and the cost of upgrading the audio and video gear in the future as the show grows.
With your support, I'll be able to better set aside time at the studio to dedicate to this show. As the support grows, so will the gear I use to make it. This includes upgrades in the microphones, preamps, lighting (my lighting is so bad right now!), and even cameras. I'll also be able to advertise better and get the listenership up which in turn will create better exposure for the bands who appear on the show and make it all possible.
Thanks for your consideration, and go support your local scene!
