About Unseen64

Unseen64 is an historical archive with articles, screenshots and videos for cancelled, beta & unseen videogames. Every change and cut creates a different gaming experience; so we started saving some documents of this evolution for curiosity, historic and artistic preservation.

There are already more than 3.000 unseen videogames saved in the Unseen64 archive, but so many others wait to be added. There are only a few people active on the main U64 Staff: we face some difficulties to keep up with all the work and costs to run such an online museum of games we'll never be allowed to play.

Unseen64 is an independent website, we don't have marketing people or advertising to help us, but together we can keep working on the archive. Here's how pledges from Patreon can help:

1) We can pay the Unseen64 server and IT support every year, to keep the site online while we add new beta & cancelled games in the archive every week.and posting daily updates on Twitter.

2) We can keep the site ad-free, not selling our souls to companies and having a lighter, better looking archive without banners or promoted related content.

3) We can repay some of the time spent working on Unseen64 and lose less time on freelance jobs, so we can keep writing articles and creating videos to remember even more lost games in the Unseen64 archive.

4) We can preserve info, screens, videos and playable protos of lost videogames with multiple online and offline backups, adding more space to Unseen64's Dropbox & Drive accounts and buy bigger hard disks when needed.

5) We also set aside all remaining donations in a “Preservation Fund“ to support the online archive for emergencies and unexpected expenses. Every expense will be shared with our Patrons before to be invested.

6) Most of the articles written for Unseen64 are still made by italians, there are a few English Native speaker who are helping us to proofread articles, but there could still be some Engrish here and there, sorry!

Donate only what you can afford, only how much you think it's worth keeping U64 alive. We cannot ensure anything more than our love for lost video games (even the most obscure, boring ones) and our mission to remember them.

We think it is important to remember unseen videogames, because if we don't do this, they could be lost forever. If you want to help preserving beta and cancelled games, please consider to pledge the Unseen64 archive on Patreon.

Starting from 1$ a month, the cost of 1 cup of coffee, you can help a lot. You can donate as much as you want, and you can cancel your pledge at any point if you’re low on cash or have a change of heart.

Big gaming networks like IGN or Kotaku have the power and the money to have a team to work full-time on their website, to publish daily updates. We don't have their resources, but we have something better: we have you, a community of gamers that know why it's important to archive beta and cancelled games, and together we could make Unseen64 a better online museum for all those games that could be forgotten forever.

Every cent is really appreciated and will be used for the Unseen64 Archive.

Goals
$190 of $550 per month
If we can reach 550$ or more with your help we could finally quit some of our freelancing day-jobs to work more on Unseen64, write better articles and create more videos, organize interviews with forgotten developers, start preserving lost games for the 8th generation of consoles (PS4 / X1 / Nintendo Wii U, Switch / new PC games)!
