More unseen games, more often!
If we are able to rise 500$ or more a month, with your help we could pay our best contributors to quit some of their day-jobs to write more good articles for the website, deeper researches on lost videogames, create videos, interviews with forgotten developers, start to archive unseen games for the 8th generation of consoles (PS4 / X1/new PC games) and to do everything else it's possible to remember those lost videogames!
About
From 2001 at Unseen64 we write articles and archive screens / videos about beta and cancelled videogames. We are a group of gamers (most from Italy) with not much free time, that do the best we can with this limited free time, because for us is important to remember those games that could be forgotten.

Unseen64 is an archive with articles, screenshots and videos for cancelled, beta & unseen videogames. Every change & cut creates a different gaming experience; so we started saving some documents of this evolution for curiosity, historic and artistic preservation.
There are already almost 3.000 unseen videogames saved in the Unseen64 archive, but so many others wait to be added. We are only 4 people on the main U64 Staff: we face some difficulties to keep up with all the work and costs to run such an online museum of games that we'll never be allowed to play.

Unseen 64 was created in 2001 by a group of Italian friends. After years spent looking at Nintendo 64 games that never came out or that were released with many differences compared to their previews, we decided to create an online museum / archive about those games, to preserve all those changes and cuts made throughout the course of development.
We were young and with loads of free time, we used a free server to host the website and it was just for fun that we kept working on U64 until it became the huge archive that you see today, a website with more than 200.000 pageviews every month. Now U64 needs a dedicated server to be able to host so many visitors and to remain stable and fast enough. Unfortunately we are not young anymore: we have families, full-time jobs, bills to pay and other real-life commitments. Still we update Unseen64 as much as we can, everyday we share news about unseen games on our Twitter account, we get in contact with developers to save as much as it's possible before those games are lost forever... and we need your help.

The new server (2016) hosting Unseen64 costs about 600$ per year. For 2015 we were able to use a 300$/Year server, but with more visitors our provider had to upgrade it and it will cost much more. U64 is an independent site. No money is generated from our work so we must pay each and every server bill ourselves, with the help of a few awesome supporters. Years ago we had Google Adsense banners that helped a little to raise money to pay the server, but then Google banned us because we use to write about prototypes and rom-hacks, even if we don’t host those files on our server. Being banned and with no banners, it's not easy to find enough money to pay the U64 server.
Everyday we struggle to keep up with all the beta and cancelled games that still need to be added to the U64 archive, while most of our time is absorbed by our day-jobs. Think about it: there are more unseen than released games in the whole world. Every month we get lots of emails and messages from contributors that suggest more and more beta and cancelled games to be added to the website. There are also many developers that contact us to try to preserve some artworks and assets from their lost games. We don't have the resources and the time to update the site but once a week and many games and contributions need to wait months before they can be added to the website.

Together on Patreon we can rise enough donations to pay the U64 server, and maybe we could even rise enough donations to pay our best contributors to quit some of their day-jobs and write more good articles, to publish a paper U64 book, deeper researches on lost videogames, create video insights, interviews with forgotten developers and much more.
Big gaming networks like IGN or Kotaku have the power and the money to have a team to work full-time on their website, to publish daily updates. We don't have their resources, but we have something better: we have you, a community of gamers that know why it's important to archive beta and cancelled games, and together we could make Unseen64 a better online museum for all those games that could be forgotten forever.
If we are able to get 25$ a month, we can pay the U64 server for another year without any kind of ads / banner and write weekly updates. With 100$ a month we will record more exclusive podcasts for our patrons, with many info that we cannot publish in the main website yet. If we reach 150$ a month, to thank you we will be get to work on a series of high quality mini documentary videos and Patrons will be the first to see each before they go public on YouTube. If we are able to rise 250$ a month we can get enough resources to fully pay the U64 server and also pay our editors and external collaborators to do extra work on an Unseen64 Book with updated articles and exclusive insights about cancelled videogames. If we are able to rise even more, we could pay our best contributors to quit some of their day-jobs to write more good articles for the website, deeper researches on lost videogames, create videos, interviews with forgotten developers, and to do everything else it's possible to remember those lost videogames.

With 1$ a month (about 0,79 euros) you will support Unseen64 and we'll be able to keep working every week on the website without worrying too much about the server bill! You will get access to our English Unseen64 Podcast exclusive to our patrons (in which we talk about games that were never released, with some info that could not be published on the site yet) and your name will be in our annual thank-you post, dedicated to people that helped U64 remaining online.
Everything above, plus we share draft / early versions of all our future articles and some exclusive info that will not be in the website with people that donate 5$ a month (about 3,9 euros).
Everything above, plus we share draft / early access videos and exclusive videos that will not be in the website with people that donate 10$ a month (about 7,9 euros).
Everything above, plus we send you a paper copy of any future U64 books (starting from your second month of support) to those who donate 25$ a month (about 19,7 euros). We'll have to reach the goal of 250$ a month to be able to work on the books!
Everything above, plus we work on dedicated articles and special requests (for example, we could do researches, contact developers and write articles for beta / cancelled games of your choice) for those who donate 100$ a month (about 79 euros).
