What's this about?
You've seen the books on Project Gutenberg. Whether old "radium age" science fiction novels, curious rants by Edwardian cranks, or A-No. 1 hobo novels, some are awful, some are unintentionally humorous, and some are quite fascinating. But who has the time to sift through them all?

Hi, I'm Justin Howe. I write stories and reviews. Some of which have been published in places like Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Strange Horizons, Reckoning, and elsewhere. You can check out my website 10BadHabits.com for a complete bibliography. While I don't think of myself as particularly well-read, I do try and stay curious about books. And one of the things I love to read are old, weird books of the kind found on Project Gutenberg.

My goal is to make regular deep dives into Project Gutenberg and read those books, so you don't have to. I'll then write about them here.

It'll be part book club, part review service.

Sometimes this might take the form of chapter by chapter breakdowns over the course of a few months, like I did here with Matthew Lewis's The Monk. Other times I might just write up a quick review. Yes, this is all a ruse to get good people like yourselves to support me while I write longer fiction, something I manage to do now between teaching and tutoring English as a second language here in South Korea. I can't promise there will never be random things like biscuit recipes or ideas for RPG settings here, but the regularly produced content will be old weird book related.

Thank you for your support!
