THE CALL
For the last few months I've felt this extremely strong call to travel the country--not like a vacation, more like a pilgrimage.  This call was so strong that oftentimes I couldn't sleep at night because my mind kept ruminating about all the many details of preparing for this journey, taking this journey, and writing about this journey.  The intuition was so strong that I finally gave notice to my employers.  I'm committed.  One way or the other, I'm going.

THE VISION
There are five pieces to this pilgrimage:
  1. Immerse myself in nature as much as possible.   Nature is one of the most restorative medicines on the planet.  And, like many people, I need to be with it--sitting among the trees, gazing at the ocean, putting my feet in the creeks, walking through the forests.  But also, I want to acknowledge it, thank it, and bless it all.  This Earth is ever-giving and we have been abusing her terribly.  I believe she needs our love and gratitude as much as we need her blessed sustenance.
  2. Visit the sacred sites.  America has sacred sites?  Absolutely!  Think: ancient groves of redwoods.  Think: places sacred to Native Americans.  Think: the earth mounds and pyramid mounds scattered throughout the Mississippi Valley and the South that very few of us were ever taught even existed.  Think: shrines and gardens, stupas and ashrams.  There are holy places everywhere once we start looking.
  3. Find the places that need healing energy.  In addition to all the incredible beauty of this country, there are also many places where healing is desperately needed.  There have been massacres and lynchings, interment camps and detention centers, factory farms, etc.  Often sorrow and heaviness linger in these places.  I want to visit these sites and honor the souls who have lived and died there.  I want to do small healing rituals and offer heartfelt prayers.
  4. Visit friends and give talks.  I am blessed to have many friends who live scattered across this continent.  I want to visit them and share some of my experiences--about Mt. Shasta where I've been living for a couple of years, about other sacred sites, and about this journey and the people and places I've encountered along the way.
  5. Write a book.  Because I am a writer, I always feel compelled to write about my experiences. My intention is to write one chapter a week about this pilgrimage.  At the end of it all,  you will be able to live vicariously through my experiences!  The book will be called An American Pilgrimage.  It may be a four-part series.
ABOUT ME
I am a writer, an interfaith minister, an amateur photographer, a bit of a healer, and a woman. I am a lover of beauty, of animals, of people, of this good Earth.  But mostly I am a spiritual being (as are we all, whether we realize it or not) who feels the need to follow her soul's call.  If you are curious to know more, you can visit my website: www.cynthiagreb.com

SEEKING COLLABORATORS
Like all big ventures, there are always many people behind the scenes who help to make the whole thing a success. All collaborators will receive weekly updates and photos so that you can be with me every step of the way! Plus, you will receive due mention and great gratitude in my book!

If you are excited about this vision and would like to be a part of it all, you can help by scheduling talks in your home or school, women's group, civic group, or place of worship when I come through your area.  I will be posting a working itinerary on my website so that you can keep track of my progress. (Again, that's cynthiagreb.com.)

You can also choose to make a donation or tithe each month on this Patreon site.  Collectively, you will be the grant money that helps me to do this act of service, follow this call, live this dream!  You can also make a lump donation of money, camper, or even food!  Use your beautiful imagination!  If you don't like to make payments via Paypal, you can send checks to the following address, from which all mail will  be forwarded to wherever I'll be.  That address is:  Cynthia Greb, 404 N. Mount Shasta Blvd. #354, Mount Shasta, CA  96067.  (Please take care to replicate this address exactly.) It would bring me joy to receive notes and letters from you along the way!

AN AMERICAN PILGRIMAGE
From the West Coast to the East, to the North, through the South, and in a Spirit-guided circuitous route in between; visiting, praying for, learning from, and writing about the land, the rivers, the animals, and the people; from sea to shining sea, with a spirit of goodwill and a wide-open heart, may goodness and kindness prevail.
So be it.
