About Rebecca Renner
My name is Rebecca Renner, and I’m a journalist and fiction writer living in Boynton Beach, Florida. As a seventh-generation Floridian, not only am I a rare breed, I’m also committed to making life in my state better for everyone. So I write about the environment and social issues. I also write (maybe a bit too much) about myself.
If you’d like to learn more about me, head over to my About Me page. You can also check out my short stories, nonfiction work, and cultural criticism via links throughout the site.
Currently, I'm finishing a novel that delves into social issues in connection with horse racing and toxic masculinity.
I'm also working on a book about the tragic life of my grandfather, Dr. Lamar Roberts. A protégé of the famous Wilder Penfield, my grandfather took his own life before I was born. I’m trying to find the stories of his life that history has forgotten.
What will you do with my Patreon donation?
Some types of writing pay more than others. Unfortunately, writing book reviews does not pay well. In order to focus on doing the things I love, like writing book reviews and finishing my own books, I'm going to need some outside funding.
By helping out through Patreon, you will essentially be buying me time to write more book reviews — and to write more in general.
Money will go toward paying my rent and for travel necessary for research.

At $2,500, my minimal living expenses would be paid, and I could focus on writing.
