Hey all, I'm Boombox Famous. Thanks for checking out my Patreon Page, I'm a Recording Artist, Guitarist and DJ with one burning question that keeps me up at night; What 'could' Lenny Kravitz sound like, if he Jammed with The Prodigy?

I'm a Music Junkie trying to create an audience for a unique sound, a potentially overlooked niche I think could do with some attention.
My goal is to open up people's ears to a new, Rock & Funk induced style of upbeat music, one they may not have known they wanted until they heard it.

Growing up I have always had an eclectic taste of music, often mixing with both Rave and Heavy Metal crowds... getting into many heated debates. After dropping out of college where I studied Audio Engineering, and leaving what was my 6th or 7th band, I remember seeing an album called Decks-And-Drums-And-Rock-And-Roll, by the Propellerheads and Hearing a Song by Mos Def  titled 'Ghetto Rock'. A Term sometimes used to a describe a by-any-means-possible approach, when creating music under extreme limitations.

It was not so much the songs themselves, but these words that conjured up vivid images of a Cool Rock/Funk/Electronic Music Hybrid that I really wanted to hear, and one that doesn't really exist. Sure there are acts like Prodigy, Skrillex and Pendulum that do this, and do this well, but like pretty much all genre's in music today, they support a much more darker sound.
I wanted to embrace a more Upbeat, Party-Rock sound, with splashes of Funk. In true Ghetto spirit, I grabbed my 808, a $30 Electric guitar from a Pawn Shop, dusted off my Old Bass and locked myself in my studio for a week untill I could turn what was in my head into some sort of reality.

The song above is what came out with, and I was excited and inspired even further by the results.

I currently earn a little extra money by 'ghost-writing' for Commercial DJs, something that sucks the Soul from me -there is little room for innovation. The Problem is, Music that crosses genres is usually harder to market, in already tough times in the music industry, it's now almost impossible. It doesn't fit nicely into a predetermined package.

I am  a one man band, recording and playing all the parts myself. Including Vocals.
With your support I can secure an audience and explore this Sound, recruiting additional vocalist's and musicians to join the project and take it to the next level.

Much Love.

Much like the artwork, I would love to collaborate with filmmakers in creating a universe that encompasses all our much loved tropes of both Rock n' Roll, Funk, Soul and Old School Hip Hop Culture. The world discovers Bigfoot, but Bigfoot discovers music; a child plays his favorite beats on a mix-tape, trying not to wake his parents...only for his Dad to come in Guitars Blazing, freestyling over them with Fingerlickin' Riffs - two worlds collide. There are many cool, fun and interesting video's ideas that capture this world.
