Jean Michel Dissake is an artist from Cameroon. His studio, Mudiki Free Laboratory of Visual Arts provides young people in Yaounde access to learn visual arts, performance and design. Jean Michel's story, living in the forest for 9 years and learning traditional African culture, led to his vision to heal the tree of life through powerful messages for humans. Jean Michel asks us to realize that the sacred forest is also inside ourselves, to find love and unity. His works convey these ecological messages. Jean Michel's works will be exhibited in 2020 at the Halsey Institute, College of Charleston, and Gregg Museum of Art and Design, NC State University.
