The Lord said to her in reply, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her.”
-- Luke 10:41-42

In this busy age, our Marian hearts are constantly swept up in the frantic Martha pace of our world. We are makers, we are builders, we are made to create, yet we are ever "anxious and worried about many things." Embroidery is a creative art that requires us to slow down, to appreciate the feel of the cotton thread from the plants of the earth, the colors and beautiful shapes we, stitch by stitch, trace it into. It gives our Martha hands a Marian, almost contemplative activity. We can still our hearts, and allow ourselves to enjoy the works of our hands, as they work for the Lord.

I design patterns that I hope will help us in our journey toward living in union with Christ. They are designed for beginners and embroidery-lovers alike, with adaptations suggested to simplify or elaborate any design. We stitch them together, in community, as our work should be done, sharing tips and learning strategies.

You can join in as often or as frequently as your state of life allows, ordering patterns or kits occasionally, or joining in one or both of our bi-monthly kit clubs. New to embroidery? Buy a kit! See how you enjoy it. :) Want a regular commitment but not able to bite off too much right now? Join a bi-monthly club and work on each kit at a leisurely pace over two months. Flying through what you have? Join both clubs and finish one a month! There are no rules and no "wrong" embroidering -- we are all here to learn and have fun making something beautiful before God.

And we humbly beseech thee, O heavenly Father,
so to assist us with thy grace,
that we may continue in that holy fellowship,
and do all such good works
as thou hast prepared for us to walk in.
