About Caitlin Myer

For a brief and brilliant time in San Francisco, I hosted a literary reading series where audiences heard fresh work from writers and musicians every month. I miss this. We all miss this.

My name is Caitlin Myer. I am a writer who traveled the world for seven years before stopping for a while in Portugal. In 2020, during a pandemic, I launched my first book (Wiving: A Memoir of Loving Then Leaving the Patriarchy), accepted that Portugal is my new home, and sustained a head injury that made it impossible for me to read and write without getting sick.

So I decided to make a documentary and a podcast. The documentary deals with the cataclysm of a brain injury and the work of rewiring myself. The podcast will be interviews with people across America about the meaning of home.

You can find my book at independent bookstores everywhere, and my short stories, poetry, and essays have been published in gorgeous literary magazines. But here, you lovely patrons can read fresh as well as never-before-seen work, and will have exclusive access to behind-the-scenes videos, bonus podcast episodes, and photos from my travels around the world.

(Music for The Unstory, "Incantation" was written and performed by Dawn Oberg, from her album Bring.)
