Hi there!
We are vocal group Latvian Voices from Riga, Latvia and we are super excited to become a part of Patreon creative community.
Since the very first day of our group's foundation which was in 2009, we have been exploring what it takes to become a successful woman in music career, society and family life simultaneously.  Of course, it wasn't that long for us to realize that it is not easy at all and that's why we have searched for an inspiration looking for stories from our colleagues back in the day. It all has resulted in an idea of creating a concert program "Vox Femme".

A story told through the eyes of a woman is a deep-rooted tradition in every genre of music, in every part of the world. Vox Femme explores this theme across Latvian folklore, medieval chant, classical music, and contemporary pop repertoire – weaving the original identity of these genres into new, modern arrangements. This repertoire from across the ages has all been originally written, or inspired, by female composers. Highlights include Hildegard von Bingen’s O Quam Mirabilis Est, Fanny Mendelssohn’s Die Mainachtand lead singer from The Cranberries, Dolores O’Riordan’s euphoric, Dreams. The central work is Latvian Myth written by Artistic Director of Latvian Voices, Laura Jēkabsone. It traces the life of a woman from childhood, through her youth, on to marriage and adulthood, and finally tracing her frailty as she nears the end of her life.

Our goal is to record the program and release the CD "Vox Femme"
