I am an aspiring freelance artist and author of the story series East Side Story. Much of my work is digital. I've always liked writing stories and creating art. I was an art major in college in fact. Aside from a couple of art shows however, I never did an independent show. I've never sold any of my artwork either. For the longest time, I spent honing my skills and whatnot by doing replicas of tutorials and fan art before it reached a point where it was like, " Shouldn't you be creating some of your own original ideas by this point?" So I did. I begin imagining characters from my book series, East Side Story which is about a girl and her adventures in college at a fictional East Coast university and as a new runner/student athlete in an artistic form. The series itself is based off of events that actually happened in real life. I'm just thinking in terms of if this was to be developed into a movie, mini-series, or comic strip, here is where the art and the stories itself overlap. The artwork makes much more sense when a storyline has been added to it, so there's less of the " Ooh, pretty pictures but what's this all about?" and more like there's a real objective behind it.

Currently I'm a one-woman-band, working on both the illustrations and the stories. The illustrations unfortunately had to be put on the backburner because in order to make the illustrations into a finished product. specific programs are required. Here is where you supporters come in: supporting me means that I will not only have the tools to keep developing the illustrations but also further develop them as well as promote along with the stories. Right now the series is available through Amazon Books however it's almost as if they're undiscovered because so far only the first book has been sold once. I feel I have something amazing here, in terms of a vision however I am currently like the artist, toiling away in the attic that everyone else is oblivious too. In order for my stories to come to life, people have to first know that it exists and be interested.

If you support me on Patreon, you'll be helping me to bring my vision alive. It's only $5 a month for the tiers and when you subscribe, you get access to content that isn't available anywhere else, excerpts of chapters from books, sneak peaks of illustrations in progress, and even a chance to interact with me personally. How cool is that?!

So far, I've been great in terms of trying to get my content out there but I need more in terms of getting my work noticed. Being supported is going to help me not only be able to promote myself better but also hook up with the people who can help me do it. Story telling and art is important because it not only entertains us, but also has the power to educate and change people's lives. That is my goal as an author/artist- to use my visual and literary media to change lives.

If you can become a Patreon, great. If not, that's also great. Either way, I have you to thank because these projects are for the people. Supporting is helping me to keep doing what I'm doing. Thank you so much. If possible, become a patron and let us preserve humanity!
