About The Mallet Assembly

The Mallet Assembly is an honors residence program at the University of Alabama, founded in 1961 by renowned UA professor John Blackburn.  For over 50 years, Mallet has prepared some of UA's brightest students for success after graduation.  Mallet is entirely student-governed, and strives to serve the UA community by hosting guest speakers, doing community service, and holding events such as open mic nights.  The Assembly receives only limited university funding, and whether you are an alumni of Mallet or simply a friend of the University of Alabama, your contribution will help to ensure that this unique program is able to impact the lives of students for many years to come.

Mallet's current housing situation is far less than ideal, as the Highlands apartments are prohibitively expensive and do not facilitate the community atmosphere Mallet strives for. We are exploring several options for the future, including renting an off-campus house and establishing a need-based housing scholarship for our members. More details of our long-range housing plan will be unveiled at Mallet Con in the spring, but in the mean time your donations will help secure a permanent home for Mallet. Thank you for your support!
