About Bereaved Dad's Network

The Bereaved Dad's Network is a community for men who have lost a son or daughter. We are building an online resource library and a network of monthly connection points for me to share their journey with other dad's who get it.

Our group is growing and we need your support to help us reach the men who need to be in community with other Dad's "WHO GET IT".  We have come here to Patreon as a tool for you to be able to support of journey together.

We  understand our supports will come wearing many different hats, some will attend meetings, some will listen to podcasts, some will read the book reviews and some of you might just know a dad and want to make sure there are resources available for him.  We welcome you all and thank you for making the commitment to support us monthly.

Please allow me to tell you how this all got started, the Bereaved Dad's Network...

On December 11, 2018 I lost my youngest son Brandon in a tragic auto accident and like so many other dad's I was trusted into a world I knew nothing about, a world without my youngest son.

After all the “immediate things” had been completed and my son was buried, I was left to figure out how to help guide my family in the healing, dealing and accepting what had just happened. I did all the hard work, GriefShare group, private counseling, tons of books and we even connected with a mentor couple who had lost a son 20 years prior.

But something was missing, I wanted to connect with other dads to understand what they were doing, how they were getting through the hard times, how they were keeping their marriage together, and what they were doing to support themselves in this difficult time.

Thus after months of research I was unable to find anything that was just for men. So with the help of that mentor couple I mentioned above, the guidance of Starlight Ministries and my newly found friend & Bereaved Dad Steve J, who had lost his son two years prior, we set out to establish a statewide group for men who would be willing to share, connect and grow together in the grief around our loss of a son or a daughter.

Beyond the monthly meetings we are committed to share the resources we find as a collective as far and wide as possible through the internet.

If you are reading this after the loss of your child, no matter how old or young, we are so sorry you are part of a club no one wants to be a member of - we are deeply sorry for your loss!
