According to some estimates, there are  cca 4,000,000 Croats living outside of Croatia. They are not well interconnected, neither amongst themselves nor with their Motherland, and Croatia itself does not recognize the power and potential of its own diaspora. This is why I'm writing this blog - to speak directly to those émigré Croats, and to open up to them an independent, professional, accurate and truthful source of information about what is REALLY happening in Croatia, without the hard filter of subtle postcommunistic censorship.
All mainstream media in Croatia are controlled by its former communistic structures, which is why they give such a false and misleading picture of Croatia and what is really happening there. After my visit to Australia this year, which included many conversations with Australian Croats, I realized how much they lack reliable, accurate news and assessments of the exact situation in Croatia. I also realized that there any many patriotic youth who love Croatia, but being born in Australia they do not have the necessary language skills to access a lot of the news which is transmitted in Croatian. Therefore my entire blog will be in both English, which is the common language of communication in the world today, and also in the Croatian language, our heritage, which connects our brothers and sisters in their millions around the world and in our beautiful homeland.
Beside sharing news and information, this blog has the purpose of connecting Croats all over the world, wherever they are.
