How does Patreon work?
In wonderfully Renaissance fashion, if you like my work, you can choose to become my patron. You will be pledging to send me a small sum each time I produce a new piece of work, up to a monthly limit, so that if I am unusually prolific I won't be cleaning you out.

Why would you want to become my patron?
Only if you're a fan of the work of mine that you've read. If you are, you'll be helping me to make my passion my profession. Basically you'd be a hero. And you can tell people at dinner parties that you're a patron of the arts. There are also some perks for you (see below) - but if those don't interest you, please get in touch and tell me if you have better ideas!

What will I do with your sponsorship?
I would really love to involve more art in my writing, whether that be covers designed for my stories and novels, or illustrations commissioned to accompany them. It might contribute towards retreats and workshops (time + teaching). On the left-hand side you can also see my long-term funding goals. And, I mean, if I end up on the street I will use it to buy food. I'm not going to promise otherwise.

And a little about me.
I'm a graduate of English Literature. I specialised in Old English (a dead language 100x better than Latin) and I wrote my dissertation on the use of fairy tales in modern literature. My favourite authors include Maggie Stiefvater and Laini Taylor and Ursula K. Le Guin. I love the films of Baz Luhrmann. I have worked as an assistant horse trainer and I will do again. I think I'd like to be a barre or yoga instructor part time because they're so beautifully chilled.

Thank you thank you thank you! You'll get a link to a free audio download of The Lay of the Last Survivor, read by Caterina Giammarresi.
Pledge $10 or more per story or chapter
For pledging $10 or more per piece of work I'm happy to edit a page or two of text for you. I don't care what it is; a cover letter for a job, a prose poem, a Facebook message. I can give technical corrections and other suggestions as you direct. I have mad spelling skillz.
Pledge $20 or more per story or chapter
If you pledge $20 or more, first of all, thanks, obviously. Because you're so cool I'll send you an ebook of the two plays I wrote that toured in England.
Pledge $50 or more per story or chapter
Gee, what can I say? You can have the previous reward of an ebook of the two plays I wrote that toured in England, and I'll also post you a hard copy of a novel I've written. I haven't published any yet. It's a very special gift. For a special person.
