Finding an old press camera at an antique store for 35 bucks has been the worse thing to ever happen to my wallet. In that moment of "oh this is neat" I failed to realize just how much it would take to produce images with that camera.
Technology has left film behind, not because of its quality, but its ability to produce images without the support of entire networks of resources. From the producers of film, and chemicals, the shops who could faithfully develop the film, and even the manufactures of parts to keep the clockwork of shutters and knobs ticking. Without that demand, those networks are hanging on by a thread, charging those remaining few who still love film so much to keep themselves alive.
This is the world I fell into, this world of uncertainty, anxiety, frustration, and excitement when it all actually works.

That is why I'm here, these costs are high but the worlds I create inside the bellows of my 4x5
