About Atari Bytes

Remember those great Atari 2600 games? Sure, they were fun to play, but didn't you ever wonder why they sent a plumber to take out Donkey Kong? What Yar was seeking revenge against? What the Defender was defending? Why those robots went Berserk? Me too!

ATARI BYTES is a game review podcast and MORE. We do review the game play, but we also look at the STORY within these classic games. Each week, the game is a springboard from which I write and present an original story. That story is always inspired by the game, but how much varies from week to week. The stories could be funny or serious and range from sci-fi to fantasy to modern fiction to spy thriller to bad poetry to, in one case (so far), 19th century erotic literature. The stories could be about anything: family, relationships, workplace drama, spy adventures, space battles, internal struggles. Who knows? All depends on what the game that week suggests to me.

In other words, we take a  BYTE out of the story and see if that story BYTES us back.

Doing a podcast involves out of pocket costs. Games, equipment, server and host fees all add up. Your support will help offset some of those costs and allow me to do more and longer episodes. Think of a donation, then, as maybe a tip to say thanks for entertaining you.

I really appreciate any amount you can kick in. Thanks in advance.
