Hello & Welcome!!

When I began painting two summers ago, it was liberating. I took twenty dollars, thrifted myself some used canvasses and splurged on a few cans of spray paint. It was messy, unstructured and passionate; half of it was cosmic, the other geometric, all created with scrapers from sidewalk trash and pieces of random material. Liberating, and explorative.

Two years later, I am still exploring making art, and it is still changing. My pieces are now painted on new canvas as frequently as on scalvaged and repurposed surfaces, and I’ve swapped spray for Acrylic. I’m still using paper bags, bottle tops and found objects, as it aligns with aspects of my work that reconsider human responsibility.

I’ve been painting to paint, to have fun, to express all the felt images in my mind, to play with color, to emote... layer upon layer something forming that prompts reflection, suggests connection, or releases the old.

Personally, I’ve been timid about sharing my work- it comes from a well whose source taps mystery (with some of the reasons why a piece was born staying there ;)) and there’s shyness, at times, at how that expresses..

At this time, however, greater self- esteem and smaller space have aligned to push me out of my comfort zone and into the Patreon next.

Both my current works and those from over the last two years will be my first offerings of rewards, with the donations to support future creations and more creating. I also have some fun ideas in the works for monthly patron contributors, info to come soon.

All art that I create reflects the connection I feel with the natural world. An animistic, shamanic approach to life has invited a different dimension in to my artwork, and in many ways I consider each piece a collaborative effort between my intuitive creator and the Elemental Realms.

I want, and dream, that my art will find appreciative homes and an audience that imagines with me, especially the otherworldly harmony in our everyday. I hope that this platform will contribute to much more arting and living.

I’m honored to be a member of this community of creatives- you’ve inspired me to be here too!

Gratefully, Em
