My family moved to the States after my father, Pandit Shiv Dayal Batish, was invited to teach the music of India at the University of California in Santa Cruz. He was one of the pioneers and one of the early founders of the present day Bollywood industry. He was also recruited to do the sound track for the Beatles film "Help" when we lived in the UK.

In 1973, My father and I founded the Batish Institute of Indian Music and Fine Arts to teach and spread our music to students in the Bay Area. We wrote a number of books on the subjects and are presently in the middle of producing web sites and content to teach music of India on our online Magazine RagaNet. Apart from providing extensive free content over the past 25 years, we have also produced a number of video tutors to teach sitar, tabla, veena, tanpura, harmonium and a number of other musical instruments of North India.

Today, I am busy producing music videos, both educational and entertainment related. And, I'm getting great pleasure in sharing these with all of you via social media giants like Facebook, Youtube etc. It is my sincere wish that my products be easily available to you all. I am not charging anyone for this and would love to continue in this direction keeping this very template for my future model. I have over 105,000 fans on Youtube and over 80,000 on Myspace. All this is great but Facebook has started to restrict my post to a select few requiring monies for me to promote my posts to my very own fan base! After resisting this for a number of months, I tried it. Fans started to see my content but it also got expensive very fast!

I need your help to counter this. I will start adding content here to compensate for this and to help buy new machines such as cameras and computers so I can keep producing interesting content to share with you all.

Thank you
