michele I work in a pharmacy, and this annoys me: "oh, it's not busy today." Just because it's not busy at this precise moment does not mean the whole frickin' day is dead. In retail you can have zero customers at 10:00 am and 25 customers at 10:05 am. People are constantly trying to find patterns so they can predict what's going to happen that day. It's impossible. I wish people would stop making those idiotic pronouncements.

Squeaks I disagree with the idea that friends who are more like you are better friends. Surrounding yourself with people who agree with you and share your interests isn't necessarily bad, but it tends to cause people to live in echo chambers, and this is how extremists are born. I feel as though it is important to have friends who don't agree with you on important issues, or who don't share you interests, because this forces you to both develop social skills and constantly reevaluate you own opinions.
