What is Patreon?
It's sort of an on-going fundraising campaign, like Kickstarter. Only, you subscribe for as long as you'd like, with $1, $3, $5 a month, instead of one fixed donation. There is no deadline. This is an ongoing support system. Every time I hit $400, I can release a song to you. This will pay for the mixing of the song. (For example, 200 people giving $2 a month). Patreon takes 5% of donations for their services. To date, over $1 million per month is given to artists on Patreon! Amazing.
If you aren't familiar with mixing, it's the tedious process of making sure you can hear every instrument clearly, without losing the vocals. It's "balancing" a song. Each instrument is placed strategically within a mix - panned left or right, brought upfront, slipped into the background. It is a time-consuming art, and a critical piece of the final outcome.
As a supporter, for your $1 a month, I will let you in to the creative process via videos. I'll show you songs I'm working on, let you hear clips, and talk to you about my inspiration, and answer any questions you might have.

I am a prolific song-writer. Over the past four years, I have released 5 projects (34 songs) and numerous singles. But I still have so many songs that have never been heard, and thousands more in me that have yet to be written. (www.katelynnelogan.com)
To me, Music is: art, math, history, pattern, therapy, social, comfort, belonging, memory, motivation, change, escape. Music has been fundamental from the beginning - heart beats, breaths, seasons, oral traditions. Our stories were and are music. Whales sing with melody and repetition - they sing to communicate. Music is tribal.
I'm new to Patreon, and don't know how all of this might turn out. But I'm willing to try something new in an industry that has evolved so quickly. I hope you will join me
