I am independent science journalist, who used to be a scientist, molecular cell biologist to be precise. I became science journalist because many things go wrong in science: it is so competitive in terms of research funding and jobs that cutting corners became the norm. Many young scientists are forced to drop out or to play along. Worse, research misconduct, data manipulations and even patient abuse are routinely covered up, while most science journalists look away or fail to grasp what is going on.
This is also why I am an independent science journalist. Only as such can I report about things others don't want to see reported. No boss can stop me from releasing critical information which may anger some influential scientists or international research institutions.
As George Orwell said it: "Journalism is printing what someone else does not want printed: everything else is public relations”.
I have no other income, aside from occasional conference invitations, commissioned articles or cartoons I sell.
The money I ask would help me pay the lawyer to defend myself against unjust court injunctions, and when that is done, for website managing costs and to stay independent in order to continue delivering to you my investigative science journalism.

$208 of $1,000 per month
Legal fees, following court injunctions like those issued by Walles and Jungebluth. I need to pay many thousands of Euro just to be allowed to present my evidence in court, after a court decision was made behind my back. Because this is how German injunction law works
