--WHO WE ARE--
First
and foremost, DR Productions is composed of myself and a number of close
friends and volunteers who work together to produce Database Ranger’s Power
Reviews, a 100-episode experiment in what I like to call “analytic
storytelling”; developing a constantly evolving, contextually shifting,
multi-year story arc that is seen through the lens of analyzing a pre-existing
property, in this case the long running Power Rangers franchise.
Not a fan of Power Rangers? Don’t worry. If you’ve got an ear for humor, an eye for mystery, and a mind for critical thinking, this is the show for you. This is also a show designed to continually evolve from a production standpoint, starting with a single reviewer sitting in a chair, facing the camera, and slowly introducing more characters, new locations, complex action choreography, and some nifty compositing and special effects.
This is not a pipe dream. With over 70 produced episodes, Power Reviews is well on the way to achieving its goals. Beyond that, we have also produced multiple side-series, which includes addressing viewer Q&A with “Ask DB”, tackling full season breakdowns with our “Retro-Power Run-throughs”, and providing news, updates, and other discussion topics through our “Jake Says Hi!” V-log series.
We will also be kicking off a new series called “Database Ranger’s Dino Charge Ranger Logs”, which will be a half length version of Power Reviews focused solely on analyzing new episodes while the main series focused on using older episodes to reach its ultimate conclusion.
Now, let’s move on to number two.

--WHERE WE NEED HELP--
Video production takes up considerable time and resources, and we have a lot of goals that your contributions can assist with. This extends to new equipment like full-sized tripods, improved lighting, better sound, props and costumes, and even green screens to assist with special effects.
The more we have at our disposal, the better equipped we will be to create new and innovative content. Beyond that, you would be helping this guy to support himself.
This is a man who dedicates hours and hours to driving himself crazy for little-to-no compensation. He has hopes and dreams. He’s planning on getting married this year. He wants to get into professional filmmaking. Maybe one day even move somewhere that doesn’t have freezing cold and snow.
But he needs your help to accomplish all that.
Which brings us to number three.
--WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF IT?--
Well, that depends on what you want. We have many great rewards lined up that can all be viewed below. Note that all these levels are cumulative, and subject to change if we receive more requests than we can handle, but we still will honor any rewards for contributions made before such changes.
So, there you have it. What else could you possibly want? More? Well, there is one last thing. If we get enough people together, all helping out, and that total amount exceeds $600 per month, then we will announce a brand new project that will commence development after the conclusion Power Reviews, along with a new set of goals to go with it.
We really want to make this happen, guys, so please, spread the word however you can.
And that’s it. Even if all you do is read this page and tell a friend about it, thank you. We truly appreciate not only our patrons, but everyone out there who takes the time to view our content. Thank you all so much. And until we see each other again, farewell Internet, and let the Power protect you.
