Nicolas Hamel is creating
video game and film reviews
I love to make people laugh.
Milestone Goals
Small upgrades to Planned All Along
I will contact artists to draw wallpapers or title cards for Planned All Along. The pictures will all be available for download. Plus, I will post a Thank You video to the site.
Microphone upgrade
I'll buy a new microphone that I will then use for the site! Or rather, I'll buy a microphone. Because I don't have a microphone yet (my webcam records the audio).
Camera upgrade
I will buy a camera and make a few Thank You videos.
Software upgrade
I will buy new software that will help me release better content.
Computer upgrade
I will buy a new computer, and as a result everything will have been upgraded. I will start releasing playthroughs and full video reviews.
About
Young content creator. For now, I'm writing reviews on my own website, but I hope to increase the quality of my site and that of my reviews. I don't expect to make a living out of it, but I'm still hoping to get some help thanks to Patreon!

I get great enjoyment from making people laugh. I like to review stuff, too. I started my blog, Planned All Along, as a hobby in July 2013. One year later, it has become one of my greatest projects. Updated at least once per week (and sometimes twice a week), Planned All Along is built on written reviews of video games and movies. There might be something more every once in a while.
"Written". That's the thing. I've been experimenting with video recently (with a webcam), and I must admit that the site would be a lot better if I could get a camera to record actual footage from the games I'm reviewing. At the same time, I need many more things in order to make it work, such as a good video editing software (because Windows Movie Maker.... eh), a microphone, and while I'm at it, a new computer with more power. Mine is getting old. But first things first, I would use the Patreon money to upgrade my site, add more videos, more pictures and more collaborations with other artists. With a camera, I could even make playthroughs, something I can't do now. The reason I became a content creator on Patreon is because I hope to release better material every year (year? How about every month?), and I cannot do that without a bit of help.
Keep in mind, though: Unless I make a living out of it, game reviewing will remain a hobby. All the money you give will be used to ameliorate the blog, its content, or my work tools. I want to keep making reviews, because I like to give my opinion and make people laugh at the same time. This passion is worth all the work I put into it. And dozens of Youtube reviewers will agree with me: It's awesome to discuss a work in front of an audience, make jokes, and get feedback on the content you produce.
Donate if you want. Even if you don't, the site will exist and I will keep publishing reviews. But the increase in quality will be much, much slower.

How I usually work on a review: My blog is called Planned All Along because first and foremost, I look at the game's plot. It's one of the elements in a game that had to be thought up in the first stages of a game's production. While I take a look at the plot, I do the usual Internet reviewer stuff (I crack jokes at the expense of the characters ro to mock the situation, I point out plot holes and things that don't make sense, etc.). At the same time, I check the many aspects of the game: The playability, the difficulty, the levels, the characters, the graphics, the music, and so on. After I'm done covering the plot (or all of the other elements if there wasn't a plot), I spend the final section of the review looking back on all the points I've made through the review. Also, I tend to be very positive towards the games I'm reviewing, no matter how cruel I can get towards it. If a game really is bad, have no worries; I will say that I don't like it. I'm honest in my reviews. Also, I might add a video if I feel like it.
Here are a few examples of my reviews.
Game Boy Advance: Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards (Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3) (Part 4)
Nintendo DS: The Simpsons Game (Part 1) (Part 2)
Drawn To Life (Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3)
Wii: Bass Pro Shops' The Hunt (Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3)
Virtual Console: Mario Party 2
WiiWare: Reel Fishing Ocean Challenge
Film review: Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase (Part 1) (Part 2)
Top 12 list: Top 12 One-Time Final Nintendo Bosses
Once per week, I will make a post in the Creations section of this page, in which I list up to 4 reviews I wrote since July 2013. I will post them in chronological order. These will be included with some of my thoughts on each review, which will give you an idea on the kind of review I write.
The goals include, among others:
-Making contributions with artists to create title cards and wallpapers.
-Buying new tools (microphone, camera, computer, editing software, etc.);
-Getting a full domain name separated from Blogger.
And more!
