Jennifer Hilty But Blondie just wants to help, Wayne! Look how HELPFUL that massive fireball looks!!! I love how these guys are throwing so many original ideas at Wayne and his crew that he just doesn't know how to handle it. XD "No, it's completely impos--I'm sorry did you say you want INTO the pit?!! 0.o???" I foresee Goon #1 getting punched out when he drops down, if only because Kiku's time is probably running out by now, BUT WHO KNOWS WHAT ADVENTURES AWAIT?!!1? Ah, duly noted! (On the scripting thing, since I'm quite sure that was in response to my last comment.) I did figure you guys had a general outline of what was going on, at least. ;) It's quite exciting to know that you guys have such an overall clear idea of the whole story! That has to be a nice feeling. P.S. Is there any chance that the thing at the bottom of the Pit is a certain giant mutant sewer toad monster that made a one-page appearance in the Old Comic.

Annieke van der Werf My money is on doilies. Lots and lots of mutated doilies of doom~! The doily is one of my favourite things to cryptically talk about, since for those who haven't read the old comic it must seem like such a weeiird random thing~ Yet we know better. We have seen it, and it haunts... Oh how it haunts us... *dramatically drapes self over couch in woe* (Also syncronised dancing. Please tell me that's gonna make it to this version <3)

Aja Vanilleon Haha, yes -- that fireball would have helped everyone so that they STAYED helped! And yeah, I'm really glad that you posted your earlier comment. It got me thinking that even if you and other long-time readers knew that the story was pretty well outlined, many others might not. ^^; Figured it was good to post some reassurance there. Thanks! P.S. I suppose it's safe to say that there MIGHT be... a chance. ;)

Aja Vanilleon Well, while we're making obscure references... Be careful not to fall asleep on that couch. ;D (And never fear! MOST things from the old comic will make it back into this version... in one way or another.) ♥

Jennifer Hilty ....YES OH MY GOODNESS YES TAKE HER WITH YOU ESP. SINCE SHE SEEMS RELUCTANT THAT JUST MAKES IT BETTER XD Good grief you guys give yourselves so many characters to work with. I'm not really worried because you did a wonderful job with so many characters LAST time, I'm just really impressed.

Aja Vanilleon I'm happy to hear it! D and I always hope that the story is easy to follow, even though the cast has gotten pretty large. (And this is the result of us trying to include as few characters as possible. XD I'm sure you know how that is.)

KitFang AAAAH, YES! Please, yes! This applies to both possible outcomes, honestly. I mean, Joe being a fair and delicate flower is great too...but adding a second female to our group (or at least the semi-regular supporting cast) would be *fantastic*! And think of the snarks! Won't someone please think of the snarks?! Also: duck sighting! I feel like I haven't noticed it in the past few pages. Good to see you still hanging in there, elegant songbird!

Aja Vanilleon Ho ho... I wonder how Joe would cope with this lady AND Jen in the group. :3 Indeed, the duck tends to keep a low profile during conflicts (since its intervention is rarely needed).

Annieke van der Werf Come on Joe, we all know you're a delicate flower! Admit it, oh fair one~ I wish I could up my pledge, but at least what I can affored now is like two loafs of bread a month, and when you look at it like that it should definitely help! :D

Aja Vanilleon Joe may be willing to admit that he's a fair and studly flower. :3 And yes! You are already awesome and helping a lot! I wasn't hinting that more people should raise their pledges. (Actually, I almost left out that part of the post, since I was afraid it might come across that way.) But since several people did that recently, I wanted to make sure that they're acknowledged and appreciated. Making any pledge at all is a wonderful help, and I appreciate every bit of it. I want everyone to only do what's comfortable for them, and to feel great about how much they're helping. ♥

Annieke van der Werf Dammit Aja, stop not doing what I expect you to! And by that I mean please don't <3 Oh Joe... My year is going great so far! We're officially buying the new apartment on the 30th, but we already got the key so we can start working on it. So much cleaning, so many walls to strip, so much floor to remove... And then we can paint and put in new floors! Not to mention all the packing... luckily it's 1,5 streets away, so we can work on it whenever :D So how's your year been so far?

Aja Vanilleon Sweet! Nice things are good, but nice things that you fixed up yourself are the best. I bet it will turn out great. :D This year is starting out pretty well. It's been all art all the time, so I'm slowly catching up on Ye Olde Commission and Gift Art Backlog... which has slumbered undisturbed, lo, these many aeons... untouched by starlight, untroubled by time, deep in the WIP folder of R'lyeh. But the time has come for it to rise again. Ia! Ia! Backlog fhtagn!

Jennifer Hilty Darnit. My hope was that he would suddenly pop free, sending them both sprawling into and down the pit in an unceremonious bundle. It would have been so FITTING. I don't believe for a minute that Henson just callously abandoned Joe. He's totally running back to the pit to shove himself stick-in-the-dragon's-mouth-style sideways into it and hold the door open. After all, this is a semi-Medieval setting, it's not like the door is made of high-tech hydraulics or something. (Sure hope not anyway or Henson be squish.) Regardless of which way it goes, this outta teach Joe not to blatantly insult and degrade the dude risking his life to help him. Srsly dude.

Jennifer Hilty Doggonit, guys, can we just work together for a minute. XD I just have this feeling that Richard is going to come bursting back out of the pit because he realized they hadn't followed and muscled his way back up the vertical slope. Then he'll smack the fire guy on the head, bend the bars open for Joe, and everyone can go on their merry way. Because come on, it's Richard. My favorite part of this page is the bruiser giving Jim a consoling pat. "It's alright, m'lord, you tried. I'm just very good at my job."

Annieke van der Werf There's always one that keeps their hwad cool... which, to be fair, is quite an achievement with all that fire around! (Guess who finally has a floor in their new apartment! :D and a kitchen and bathroom that will be working on Tuesday! Our old handyman screwed us over big time, but the new one fixed it all rather quickly thank god, so monday we'll finally officially living there! We're just rather low on money because of all the extra costs (so no new furniture for a while ;_; ), but at least we're almost there!)

Aja Vanilleon You've found the secret behind the comic's title. ;) The true magic is hair that ALWAYS looks fabulous -- no matter if its owner walks all day in the sun and wind, gets into fights, works up a sweat, rolls through the dust, runs around in the rain, or catches on fire. (If only we could harness this power in real life...)

Melissa Lum Fox in the hen house. Marty only has reason to kill Wayne, but I wonder if he'll be taking on other nobles for his encore battle. There's no limiters to stop him anymore.
April 20, 2015 06:44:37 · Reply
Jennifer Hilty Marty is truly a terrifying force of nature. It's really quite fitting that Wayne should meet the defeat at the hands of one of the gentlest, most quaverly peasants he forced into the ring. He made a monster and now he gets to play with it. Gj, Wayne. Gj. I'd be a little surprised if Marty actually succeeded, but who knows? If nothing else, I am doggone sure that Wayne's career as a Nobles underground speakeasy/fight ring manager is straight-up over. I can't imagine the other nobles will be impressed with how completely and fantastically he lost control of this situation, and that is a fitting justice.

Jennifer Hilty Well well WELL! And we're back at the ring! And it looks like someone is actually bothering to intervene. I feel it won't go well for them. I love how the lady is just like, "That's new", indicating that people getting kidnapped from the stands is not an irregular occurrence. XD But at least the guys are being original! Perhaps it will work this time! Huzzah for scripting progress! =D It's rather reassuring to me that accomplished comicers like yourself script as you go; sometimes I worry that we're supposed to have the whole dang story plotted out ahead of time. ^^; Whatever your process, it seems to be working quite splendidly! Can't wait to see what happens next for the gang.
