I am a political writer, unionist, and community activist who has been working in the low waged hospitality industry for well over a decade now.  I write from a working class  perspective on the impacts of low waged and precarious work, welfare reforms, the Hyper Casualised Economy, and other issues relating to poverty and wealth inequality.

I am a Hellfire Union Bitch who is kicking ass for the working class. I always try to organize my workplace before the ink has dried on the shitty and exploitative contacts I have signed (that is if I even get a contract). My advocating for the rights of workers results in me getting fired... alot. Last year I I was 'let go' for speaking out publicly about my employer exploiting migrant workers. And I've simply walked out of hospitality jobs when my boss has cut my shifts without notice which breaches employment law and/or because they failed to provide me with a contract and/or pay slips, Then there are the businesses who don't even pay you the legal minimum wage.

So, I need your economic support to keep writing and advocating for the lower and working classes. (I actually think at this point I am blacklisted by most hospitality employers in Auckland, New Zealand. Personally, I feel like this is a minor 'life achievement' for a workers rights activist, like myself)

Workers deserve fair pay for fair work. Many of our most vulnerable and precarious workers, nearly always women, new migrants and people of colour, typically have no protections, no benefits and nowhere to turn. I am commited to using my writing to narrate the stories and struggles of everyday working people who are in some of the lowest paid and undervalued work.

So, if you could spare a buck or three to support me in my endless fight to protect workerss and continue to write on crucial social issues, you'd be doing me a major solid.

kia ora comrade,

This pledge is for people on welfare and those in low waged work. I've set it at four dollars... so one buck a week.

I will send you a ZINE with some of my fav pieces of writing I have penned with quotes and annotations. I will hand draw you a picture of an activist (I'm working on turning these into prints). On top of this, I will send or hand deliver you some delicious homemade tomato sauce (I love to cook) and some gourmet pasta and feta.

Not only will you get access to 'Patreon only' posts but I will make you a cool-as-fuck Zine which will include some of my favorite pieces of writing which I have penned, with annotations and drawings by yours truly. I actually did five years of art school, so as it turns out I can draw pretty damn well.

Shit. Just. Got. Real. Wow.... thank you! So, of course you get all access to all the things on my Patreon including writing and video content, but I will also send out a ZINE with my fav pieces of writing I have penned with annotations, illustrated by yours truly. On top of this you will also get a limited print drawn by me! Just flick me a PM and we can discuss what you'd like. I mainly draw female activists but I am open to any ideas you have.
Goals
$394 of $500 per blog I write on various social issues
I'd like to make a part-time living off my writing and union work, so $500 a month would go a long way to achieving this. I am a writer, Unionist and activist who advocates for people on WINZ (work and income)  and workers in low waged work with a focus on hospitality workers.

The hospitality industry is a blackhole of despair and workers rights violations and employment breaches, and I would like to change this not only with my writing but with the launch of a grassroots worker lead hospo campaign called Raise the Bar,  that represents those workers serving you food and drinks, they likely can't afford to buy, themselves. #fairpay for #fairwork

So, any coin you can spare will go towards supporting my writing and advocating for low waged workers and those on welfare.

Thanks so much for your time and aroha

<3 xxx Chloe.
