Victory Signs is an old style professional sign shoppe and Military Veterans training program specializing in Hand Lettered signs, layout, letter form, gold gilding, chipped and etched glass, as well as sand blasted wooden signs.  Based in Humboldt County, California, we are setting up shop to work with Veterans, at risk youth and people with head injuries, to keep this dying trade alive.  Hand lettering ignites both sides of the brain which allows new pathways to be created.
The woman behind Victory signs, Lynnie Horrigan, is a head injury survivor who found new life in sign painting after being bedridden for almost a decade. Her mentor and the man behind Victory Signs, Chuck Ellsworth, is a 72 year old master sign painter who began apprenticing at age 12 with a third generation Chicago signmaker.  As digital design and vinyl letters continue to cover our world, the craft that created the Trajan columns is on the brink of extinction.
We are seeking help to secure the first 6 months rent on a shop that is clean, safe and accessible to Veterans, though continued monthly support is welcome and could lead to Tutorials and virtual workshops for those who can't travel to Arcata.
