Well, Luminatrix and I are on our second album now. It's written and demo-ed, and we're gathering funds for recording. This album will have a more organic sound than the first record, with more acoustic instruments while still keeping our rock-n-roll heart.

Meanwhile, if you sign up now to support the release of our upcoming album, you get an actual CD copy of the album free when it is released next month!

All new and existing patrons get access to free streaming or an mp3 (your choice) of our new single "House of Cards" out now and mixed by Grammy Award-winning producer Kramer.

Patrons, I am so thankful for your ongoing support. New patrons, you can learn more about the band and project below!

LUMINATRIX, a new band from SANTA FE, NM!!

I've been a performing musician since 1987, in bands including DaWillys (electric bass), Uncle Wiggly (drums, lead guitar, vocals) the Bowery Rhythm Kings (electric bass), the Black Orchids (bass) and Joe West and the Sinners (bass, vocals). I have also done studio work writing and recording bass and vocal parts, such as for the Pussywillows on their song "Twist Barbie", for the Santa Fe band Jupiter Spiral, and on too many other records to list.

I'm currently living in Santa Fe, NM where I have a band called The Lightning Harem, a collaborative co-writing project with Vincent Carrillo. The Lightning Harem are in the recording studio right now and are making an album that is already funded. While recording with Lightning Harem, I unexpectedly wrote a solo album and my local producer gave me the go ahead to bring it into the studio for recording. It's for this project that I seek funding and the band name is LUMINATRIX.

The Lightning Harem and LUMINATRIX proudly record locally in Santa Fe NM at the incomparable Santa Fe Soundworks with award-winning engineer and producer David Cragin. We are three band members working to make this happen (Cragin, me, and Vinny) and we do pretty much everything ourselves, though once in a while we do need to hire a professional drummer for our sessions. I wrote the twelve songs on the LUMINATRIX album solo, and sing the lead vocals while playing various instruments. it's feeling great to bring the core vision this time around while working with other visionaries to expand it.

The Grammy Award-winning, legendary Indie producer Kramer (Royal Trux, Galaxie 500, Pulp Fiction, White Zombie, Bongwater, Shimmy Disc / Noise New York etc. etc.) has agreed to mix, post-produce and master LUMINATRIX. What a great opportunity for local Santa Fe musicians to bring some national level talent onto a locally created project and bring more attention to our city's expanding arts scene.

In order to work at this level, I am currently giving 60-70 hours a week to my music, which includes a choice not to take income producing jobs that would prevent that work. With other band members doing the same, funding for basics such as food and rent go a long, long way. We also need to pay a drummer. And although our producer Kramer is someone who we've known many decades as a friend, he never works for free. He does work on a sliding scale, but we have to pay him SOMETHING. And even if we didn't have to, we still would because LUMINATRIX does not believe in asking non band members to work for free. Artists shall be paid.

Our immediate goals include $100 to pay a session drummer to finish "House of Cards" before it is sent to Kramer on Feb 1, 2017, $100 for various local studio expenses, $100 to pay a local film maker to make a basic video of the song for youtube, $100 to have a photographer take band photos for press kits and other promotional purposes, and some additional bucks to pay Kramer to mix, post produce and master "House of Cards" which will make it ready for final release as a single. Beyond that, my rent is going up next month and it would be great to stay in my home instead of having to move me and my kids in the 99% occupancy expensive Santa Fe housing market. This is a critical time for me to have a stable home base while I record the LUMINATRIX album!! So please contribute...it's what gets the music out there.

Longer term goals are for me to purchase a Roland Juno keyboard and a harmonic tenor mando-guitar for songwriting and recording purposes.  And hey...throwing some cash to the band mates would be awesome too because they work as hard as I do if not harder and also have to pay rent. We will be bringing our unique music LIVE to our town of SANTA FE later this year, and that's going to take some figuring out how to do and probably some buying of gear.

Got ideas of other things to contribute? Are you an awesome stylist who can give me a great unique rock-n-roll haircut, for example, or something similar? Let's do it, please reach out.

LUMINATRIX recorded our first song last week, and when you join the feed you'll get all the details on what instruments we used, who played what, and how we did it. You'll also get to hear our working studio demo of my new song "House of Cards!" It's awesome and you'll dance...a lot!!!

Believe me my dears, the song is well worth a listen, and you can get in on that, and all the action, for only $1!
