Hello and welcome to my Patron.

I have been running the online quest Embers in the Dusk on Sufficient Velocity for several years now and have decided to open a Patron page.

While I will continue to keep the quest running no matter what any support will be appreciated, and I will offer Patron access to extra worldbuilding and more information on the spreadsheets I use to run my quests.

About The Quest
Embers in the Dusk is set in 40k as the Imperium collapses after the Emperors death in 45,000. The players are the Governor of Avernus a recently settled Warp-Touched Deathworld full of the most dangerous wildlife known to mankind. Seriously you have seen the wildlife devastate Titan Legions and the world is believe to be an Old Ones Bio-Weapon Lab.

The Avernites survive on this world due to the administrative and martial genius of Governor Rotbart the great, Dark Age Technology, incredible fortifications and a highly trained combat ready population. Avernus is a powerful contributor to the Imperial Trust which Avernus helped found deploying a fleet of warships, tens of millions of power armored elites and hundreds of thousands of Battle Psykers along with a collection of legendary heroes. Despite that over a million soldiers are killed by the wildlife one a good year.

Avernus
Okay Avernus, here's what you need to know before we make landfall.
First Avernus is not by any means controlled by humanity, as soon as you set foot outside one of the fortified cities you are in enemy territory and even the cities are not safe. Act like it.
Next is the Blink Spiders. They can appear from nowhere and Blink onto you in an instant and even your Oolitic Kidney is not enough to protect you from some varieties poisons. Keep alert and kill them before they can bite.
We will be moving though some of the wild regions as part of your training and as such will encounter a good bit of the wildlife. I have provided an overview of most of what you will most likely encounter. Spend some time going over them and learn what to fight and what to run away from.
There are several species of Xenos native to Avernus, the locals are on good terms with most of them so think before opening fire. If we do get into a fight remember that all of them have a lot of psykers and have unique powers.
Finally remember that while you may be Neophytes of the Varangian Guard Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes Avernus has killed many warriors far greater then you. Never let your guard down or think you are safe. You are jioning the Eternal War and in it all safetly is an illusion.
