Greetings students!

I'm the Faculty of Khan. Disclaimer: I'm not actually a faculty or school, but yes, my last name is indeed Khan. I only chose this name because it sounded cool and I wanted a fancy Youtube channel name.

Anyway, I'm currently a university student and I enjoy learning! So one day, I decided to start this channel. Soon it shall be a hub of stimulating intellectual discussion, but for now, you can watch my tutorial videos as I continue to put them up. I'll mainly be covering the Physical Sciences, Engineering, and the Biological Sciences as my subjects for now. Bear in mind that these tutorials are mainly at the college/university level.

The purpose of my channel is to provide short but comprehensive and well-explained tutorials for college and university subjects. I've found that there is a great lack of good enough lecture videos for these subjects. Part of the reason is that not many people have the expertise to make videos for Applied Math, PDEs, Complex Variables, etc. Another part is that the lecture videos that do exist (e.g. MITOpenCourseWare, other random dudes on Youtube, etc) are: a) Either too long (30 min - 1hr+) or b) they're done with one guy on the chalkboard/writing on the computer making a bunch of mistakes/stuttering etc.

This is not to say that MIT OCW and the other guys on Youtube are terrible teachers; they're great and they provide a useful service for everyone! I myself have watched their lectures on occasion and I will still keep watching them in order to gain insight for my own videos. Nonetheless, I feel that there is room for improvement. Specifically, I think that by making videos shorter and by editing out some unnecessary stuff (mistakes, stutters, coughing, sneezing, heavy breathing etc), I can maintain the attention of the viewer better than a typical Youtube lecture video.

Because of this, and because the supply of good youtube lecture videos on advanced subjects is weak, I plan to do the following things with this channel:
1. Impose a strict guideline on myself to make my videos no longer than 15 minutes (10 minutes is my usual guideline, but sometimes I go over so 15 min is my absolute limit). I do this by speeding up my writing (like 3.5-4 fold) and slightly speeding up my speaking. This keeps the viewer engaged and more likely to understand what I'm saying.
2. Heavily edit my videos to improve the quality of my lectures. Rarely (I still might miss things sometimes) will you hear a sneeze or a stutter, because I try my best to edit things out.
3. I plan to put my background knowledge to good use. I've studied a wide variety of subjects in my undergrad/grad career, including Engineering, Math, Physics, Economics, and Biology, which basically covers all the science bases. This means that I have the requisite background to go deeper into these subjects and delve into things that not many people make lecture videos about.
4. I plan to put my teaching experience to good use as well. I've taught a wide variety of subjects, including Engineering, Math, Physics, Economics, and Biology. In addition, I've gotten a great amount of positive feedback from students, so I have reason to believe I'm a good teacher. Of course, what you make of my teaching is your own decision, so I encourage you to provide me with any feedback (negative or positive) that you have! It helps me improve for the future!
5. Regularly comment and engage with my viewers. If you comment with a question/feedback, then you can be almost certain (since I might miss it sometimes) that I'll reply back! I also take requests for future videos, though the timeline for that depends on my schedule/work load/existing videos in queue, etc.

Anyway, that should cover my introductory speech. If you think this is all worth your while, then go ahead and subscribe to my channel or pledge to my Patreon! Your support will mean a lot to me!
