My name is Sam McDonald, but you can call me Mr. Audio.  Or you can just call me Sam, either one works for me.  So, what am I up to on Pareon?  That journey began a few years ago when I began my column The Audio File at the now defunct (but still lovely) blog Alternate History Weekly Update, run by the ever affable Matt Mitrovich.  My goals was the help readers find the best free audio fiction short stories.  I also wrote several anime reviews and a few other reviews.

I now have my own blog called The Audiophile where I'm working to continue the work I started with Alternate History Weekly Update and bring you, yes you, reviews of the best audio fiction out there.  There's a lot of great stories out their, and I'm going to bring them all to you.  But we're not just sticking to short stories, I'll also bring you reviews of great comic books, audiobooks, movies, TV shows, anime and more.  My goal is to share the fiction I love with all of you.  You'll also see me interview people I find interesting, an odd rambling or two, and did I mention that I make alternate history flags?

But that's not all!  I'm a writer working on stories of my own.  I'm working hard to get published with professional magazines and podcasts.  I've had a few good start, such as this story, which I published with the good folks over at The Moonlit Road.  I'm also working on indie stories, and my pride and joy of that set is my Nile High series.  It follows mythological gods and goddesses at boarding school in a deliberately  anachronistic ancient world.  Check out the first story here.

Pitching in a few dollar will help me focus on my writing, and give me the motivation to get my act together and get stuff out on a more regular basis.  So, there you have it.  I'm bringing reviews, flags and short stories.  You'll always have something new to discover.  So then, who wants to be a patron?

I see your a bit more serious about supporting me.  You will get glimpses of stories and articles that I'm currently working on.  Be aware, however, that plans are liable to change at the drop of a hat, so take what you see with a grain of salt.

Somebody is showing love for what I do.  Is there a god, goddess or anyone else you'd like to see more of at Nile High?  Just say the work and I'll pencil them in on the story rotation  (Note: I reserve the right to say no for whatever reason I feel).
