Hello, everyone!

My name is Horacio Fernández Vázquez and I am a Mexican pianist and composer of classical and popular Latin American Music.

After many years of intense studying and composing, I was able to realize one of my craziest dreams, one I didn't believe was possible. I was accepted into the Juilliard School of Music, the most celebrated music institution in the world and among the greatest as well.

I was extremely humbled to be awarded a good scholarship to attend as well but the cost of living in New York City, the Big Apple, is an economic hardship for my family. The value of the Mexican peso is at a record low, which makes matters a lot more difficult.

I consider that my attendance to Juilliard could be very valuable since the type of music that I compose is heavily rooted in Latin American Dance styles such as Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, Reggeaton and many others.

Studying in New York City would be the perfect opportunity for me to find a crowd for my style of music and also to begin having my name be known to the world. Most of my work is already available on my Youtube page: Horacio Fernández Vázquez, where I also make tutorials on music-related subjects for the world to see.

I realize that I find myself in an extremely rare position where I have accomplished a dream that I share with many other young musicians around the world. This feeling fills me with a great sense of responsibility that compels me to compose the best music that I am capable of. The result of this will be music that I will be proud to have written and, hopefully, anyone who has believed in me will enjoy listening to it.
