Greetings and thanks for taking the time to look at my Patreon page.

I am an independent tabletop game reviewer based in Dalkeith, Scotland. I've been a keen gamer for a long time alongside having spent time as an exhibitor, demonstrator and regular con attendee. In the last year I've been working on getting more content out into the world via my site The Giant Brain, improving my writing and reaching out to board game publishers and designers to review their games.

I cover a wide range of games on my site at the moment: RPGs, Card Games, LCGs, Board Games and I am just on the cusp of getting back into miniature gaming. I have a particular emphasis on smaller publishers where I can, focusing on those outfits who are new to the scene or have a smaller catalogue when I attend cons. You’ll find all sorts of articles on my site now and in the future including reviewspreviewsmechanical analysiscritique of events and news in the Tabletop world and convention reports.

At the moment I do this very much for the love of it, as I deeply enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for the hobby with the wider world. The majority of the reviews you see will be from my own collection, that of friends with the occasional kickstarter preview that a company has been kind enough to entrust to me. My reviews are always honest, no matter how they shake out, and I do not charge. I love attending cons where I can as I get to meet up with friends and I can attempt to filter the mass of games available through my own particular point of view and present them to you, my readers.

The best way for me to see what is new and interesting is to attend conventions and at the moment I have reached the limits of what I can get to in a year with my salary. This is where I hope my Patreon will come in allowing me to get to more cons like UK Games Expo and Dragonmeet with the eventual aim being to head to some of the larger international shows such as Essen and Gencon.

Would I love to do this full time? Yes, a thousand times yes, but I am realistic about the possibility of that happening. For now if you like the articles I write and would like to see me covering more games and events across the UK, and hopefully further afield in the future, then I would greatly appreciate you supporting me in my endeavours.

Many thanks

Wow, thanks so much for your patronage, I can't adequately express my gratitude. For being such a generous individual you will get the following:

Your name will be added to the list of Patreon's on my website. You will be thanked at the end of each of my articles. You will get a shoutout on any podcasts I guest on. When I purge my game collection, which happens about once a year, I'll enter you into a draw to pick one of those games for free!

At this level I'll be able to upgrade the website: changing to the business plan for wordpress that will allow me to add plugins that will make the site easier to use.

I'll celebrate achieving this goal by hosting Mafia de Cuba games at the next con I'm at for any Patrons who wish to attend!
