I am back from London. I attended the Ubuntu Phone Insider event and have an Ubuntu Phone I took back with me. Here is what think about the device and the OS.

Ubuntu Phone

I had a chance to get my hands on the New Ubuntu Phone. Do you think it is worth it?

Chester Foster And the Ubuntu phone was a disappointment in my opinion. It's worth a quick review but I don't think it is worth an in depth review.

Max Thibodeaux It doesn't seem worth it. The killer feature is the "PC in your pocket" piece, and that's not implemented yet. So no one is going to trade off their well-functioning phone for this barely there phone. The vision is good, but the implementation is sub-par. I hope Ubuntu eventually brings us the next step in the BYOD movement. Until then this phone is just a curiosity.

Max Thibodeaux I've saw an older youtube vid about using linux on a non-rooted galaxy 4. I wonder how linux would work on a GS6 now that they're out. Might make an interesting video... The promise of using one device from pocket to desktop. (BT keyboard, adapter to large screen, BT mouse, wifi connectivity from the phone for internet).
