Regarding the editing emails to be read on the show: I understand both points of view. On one hand Tom is trying keep the show resonablely short and he feedback for the show tells him to shorten the picks section. But on the other hand removing the windows 7 complaint was supporting evidence to help his argument that people should try linux and removing that lessens his argument. Utlimstlly what is a worse outcome, a longer show by a minute or an potentioally misrepresenting a listeners view point. I am going to have to come down on the side of the emailer. Editting the emails should not be encouraged. If this means emails that could be shorten are now omited from the show then so be it. I think Tom should simply tell his audence to keep their picks, and other emails that are ment to be read on the show, pithy. If Tom judges an email to be too wordy to make the time requirment then he should ask the writer for a shorter version, not include the email, or ask for permission to edit the email. Or in other words DTNS crew should feel free to editorialize content on everything in the show except letters to the editor.
