Eric Wilder Is the file supposed to have all of the editorial notation on it?

Ksenia Anske Yes. Are they annoying? You want me to turn them off and repost?

Julian Hill It looks brilliant. Judging by your last couple of scenes the translations must be very good. Nothing looks out of place in American English but there are a couple of expressions that were new to me.

Ksenia Anske I'm going to buy another book, the dictionary of American idioms. Right now I have it on hold at the library to see if it's good, but the idea is to look up the translation from Russian idiom to an American, and then look up similar idioms in American and pick the one that fits best.

Julian Hill Expressions don't always translate well from one language to another though - I love that. And sometimes the obvious translation would produce something very funny. I think this happens all the time between American and British English too. I'm always getting lost watching American shows and I hear things that sound great but I have no clue what they mean. Maybe I need an American-British dictionary of idioms. Ok - I'm going to go looking now to see if that exists. That has to be an essential buy.

Maria Bellini That's great! And if you don't mind buying used books, you may want to consider BetterWorldBooks (http://www.betterworldbooks.com/), where they sell used books in different stages of use (Like New, Very Good, Good, and Acceptable), they have very low prices, free shipping and many sale options. I usually buy books on that website and I'm happy 100% of the time. (And a huge part of the money goes to charity.)

Ksenia Anske That is awesome, thank you! It was hard to find this copy, and I have first got it through the library to see if it was worth spending the money on it.

Ksenia Anske Yikes, I just looked it up there and it's $95 so I got a better deal at Amazon. But I will keep my eye on that site from now on. XOXO

Maria Bellini Oh, I forgot to mention that if the book is 'shipped from another seller', it will be more expensive. Maybe this book's price is so high because of this? The ones which don't have this label are usually under 20, sometimes as low as 3 dollars. Anyway, please don't forget to check other books you may want to have through this page, because I've bought books at really low prices (sometimes 6 dollars!), and that includes a little charge for shipping to Argentina, which is a long journey from the US. You shouldn't have very expensive prices from where you live.
