I have always enjoyed myths and legends whether they took the form of ancient stories like the Labors of Heracles or more recent stories like Star Wars. From an early age, I enjoyed not only reading those stories, but also imagining my own versions of them. I would play all the normal make-believe sort of games with my siblings and friends running about the neighborhood and I would check out the Dungeons and Dragons rulebooks from the local library or else dare to ask my older brothers to read look at theirs.

Eventually, my oldest brother gave me a copy of the 1st edition of the Champions superhero game and ran my younger brother and I through our first session of a role-playing game. Since then my collection has expanded through HERO System, Dungeons and Dragons, Fate, BESM, Apocalypse World Hacks, Call of Cthulhu, Chill and numerous other games popular and obscure.

During my university days I picked up an interest in Japanese comics and cartoons (manga and anime). For me that itself was really just another set of stories to add to the collection of stories I enjoyed, however, I also started writing my own stories about that time. I began in the Slayers Fan Fiction Mailing List and eventually moved on to the FFML back in the days before Fanfiction.net was well known.

Between the two I discovered that I greatly loved reading, telling and making stories. More than that, I loved the idea of creating stories with people. Beyond that, the creation of tabletop games gave me a chance to begin to create something that would give other people a chance to create their own stories.

In the last year since releasing the Divine Blood RPG I have heard a few stories from people who have purchased my game and tell me about something I never even considered as a possibility within that universe. I have heard tales of people that set up their own variation of the settings with slightly different rules of how the supernatural works. I have heard about comedic games and serious ones. And it is all amazing and wonderful to me just what people are doing with the setting I created and my reworking and merging of two rather different versions of the Fate game (Strands of Fate by Void Star Studios and Fate Core by Evil Hat).

I try to keep my prices low so that the games and stories will be affordable for anybody who is even curious about them. I plan to keep them low even if I get the sort of exposure that will have me selling well. Unfortunately, that does make it difficult to pay for the art or the time I need to create these products. Most of my funding comes out of my teaching salary.

Supporting me will help me produce more of these works in my settings and in other settings as well.

Notice that I am currently taking donations per product. I considered taking donations per month, but given my time constraints I decided to limit it to donation per product. Some of my products are going to be short stories or gaming "files" of 6k to 12k words.  Other products will hit around 50k words and major products will reach as high as 150k words or even well over 200k (as was the case of the Divine Blood RPG).

I will not be marking more than one item as an official product per month so as to avoid drawing from my patrons more than once a month and I will warn when a new product is set to be released so that you can be prepared.

My goals include some rather unlikely high ones, though even if I had 10,000 people all donating a $1 per product, I'd still only be a niche of a niche.  So perhaps it is possible.

You will be privy to all creator posts that aren't aimed specifically at the highest reward level. When a project is released, you will receive one free electronic copy of a small project (6k to 25k word projects) of your choice.

You will be privy to the creator posts for all previous levels and this one. This gives you the chance to comment on them and give suggestions. I will not always follow these suggestions, but commentary is valuable to me. At this level, when a project is released, you can choose to receive an electronic version any existing book (fiction or RPG) including the newly released project.
Goals
$3 of $45 per month
Art is expensive. If I get to the point where every project is bringing in $45, that gives me at least one piece of quality internal art that I can apply to the next project.
