Jennifer Hilty Ohhhh myyyyy woooooord things are about to get reeeeeeeally messy.... YOUR DEATH WILL BE AVENGED, THERAPY BUNNY Hopefully messy in a hilarious way and not a gory way, but you haven't mixed those two up yet so I'm not too worried. :D

Aja Vanilleon Right you are! I have a pretty low tolerance for bloody mayhem. Good clean mayhem is much more fun. :3

Annieke van der Werf I want Joe's outfit for my next LARP so damn much... Honestly, if I dye my hair blonde now I could cosplay him pretty well! And nah, what on earth could happen that you'd need those things, Joe? I mean, I have ~no idea~ where that tunnel could lead, and really, why you think you might need weapons is beyond me. Really. Just bunnies and sunshine thattaway.

Aja Vanilleon Ah, LARPing sounds fun. :3 I'm sure you'd make a very pretty Joe!

Sarah Wong I had to reduce my pledge, and then this beautiful page happened :( Well, hopefully I'll have more income and be able to ramp my pledge back up in a few months! I love this comic!

Aja Vanilleon It's all right! Any size of pledge is a huge help, and it means a lot that you're still supporting the comic. :) I hope things get easier for you soon!

Annieke van der Werf There's always one that keeps their hwad cool... which, to be fair, is quite an achievement with all that fire around! (Guess who finally has a floor in their new apartment! :D and a kitchen and bathroom that will be working on Tuesday! Our old handyman screwed us over big time, but the new one fixed it all rather quickly thank god, so monday we'll finally officially living there! We're just rather low on money because of all the extra costs (so no new furniture for a while ;_; ), but at least we're almost there!)

Aja Vanilleon Hooray for floors! Almost everything is better with a floor. :D

Aja Vanilleon D'oh! You're right, that does look kind of ambiguous. (It's supposed to be hitting his knee.) I'll see if I can make it clearer before it goes up on the main site. :) Thanks!

B. Ratcliff Having some of the fire pass in front of it would go a long way toward that, I think. Just a suggestion =D

Jennifer Hilty There's always that ONE GUY who has to be annoying and actually paying attention. =P Also we all know whatshisface is coming out the other side of this, because he's a Berserker and that's what they do. Also doggonit Henson.

Aja Vanilleon Indeed! Fortunately for peasants everywhere, most magical fire is a lot weaker/less focused. Of course, with Henson's typical luck, he has to be fireball'd by one of the more competent mages. :D

Jessica Stein Aw, I liked the tiny berserker. Also, I'd have to go back to double check, but is this our first on-the-page death? I think it must be. Assuming he didn't just leave his boots behind, which I kind of expect might be the case, given the tone of the comic so far. That or this is signalling things are getting serious. (And I'm really looking forward to what's coming in the pit, if it is what I think it is, given the old version of the comic.) I wonder how Jen will manage to meet up with her fellas?

Aja Vanilleon I think the first on-screen death was on Page 259. :D *dodges a tomato* (Well, if it counts, the first on-screen dead guy was on Page 163... and the first on-screen ambiguous defeat was on Page 10. But you're right -- we are going for a more light-hearted tone overall!)

Fiona Erasmuson Nope. Nu-uh. I refuse to accept this. I refuse to believe the little berserker has met his end.. He's hiding.. behind the goon, attached to the lift, between the bars.... *starts to cry* somewhere offscreen... D: Also, have just realised how terrifying the fire magic actually is - before it was, 'oh look pretty light magic' now it's 'gah! powerful burn-y leaving ashes and smoke everywhere magic' Damn nobles are terrifying.
March 27, 2015 20:40:50 · Reply
Aja Vanilleon You got it! ;) (Admittedly, it might have been more prudent for him to just duck back through the bars... but berserkers aren't known for their prudence.)

Aja Vanilleon You've found the secret behind the comic's title. ;) The true magic is hair that ALWAYS looks fabulous -- no matter if its owner walks all day in the sun and wind, gets into fights, works up a sweat, rolls through the dust, runs around in the rain, or catches on fire. (If only we could harness this power in real life...)

Melissa Lum Fox in the hen house. Marty only has reason to kill Wayne, but I wonder if he'll be taking on other nobles for his encore battle. There's no limiters to stop him anymore.
April 20, 2015 06:44:37 · Reply
Jennifer Hilty Marty is truly a terrifying force of nature. It's really quite fitting that Wayne should meet the defeat at the hands of one of the gentlest, most quaverly peasants he forced into the ring. He made a monster and now he gets to play with it. Gj, Wayne. Gj. I'd be a little surprised if Marty actually succeeded, but who knows? If nothing else, I am doggone sure that Wayne's career as a Nobles underground speakeasy/fight ring manager is straight-up over. I can't imagine the other nobles will be impressed with how completely and fantastically he lost control of this situation, and that is a fitting justice.

Jennifer Hilty It's really quite sad that none of us commented on this! So I shall oblige! =D Can we get a hooray for Joe getting his snotty attitude smacked in the face? XD "Oh NOW you want me to negotiate?" "..." You really deserved that, Joe, I mean some of your irritation might have been valid but you have been being a bit of a dip. Also I feel like this is the first time we've seen just how exactly floofy the therapy bunny's tail is. Woe, that it should depart from us so soon after such a revelation! I like to think that the spectators are just really enthralled at this point and most of them have forgotten that they could probably start intervening again if they so chose. Maybe they just think this is a lot more entertaining. (I know I would!)
