"Gangaridai" . This is a story that is waiting to be told. A true story that is more than two millennia old. It is a story that historians have missed, but when asked about it with the right questions, they always come up with the same answers , " .....then it has to be , there is a story here that we need to know more about. "

The questions that this fictional novel based on actual events in history will attempt to answer, Why did the 'great' Alexander turn on his heel at the prime of his victories at the western boundaries of India? ....when India was a greater prize to be had when compared to Persia and Egypt combined ? Why did Alexander or Eskander  'Return' or retreat through the deserts of Gedrosia, losing four fifth of his army ? What compelled Alexander to do so ? Wasn't he the greatest tactician in military history? Why such a big blunder? And more interestingly, why a general of such youth and vigor die so suddenly at the age of 32 ? At the prime of his youth? and why was his body not buried in Macedonia but taken to Egypt instead ? What were his generals not ready to reveal.

Lets walk away from our Euro-centric historic narrative of this so called " Great "  man in history. I ask you, whats so "great" about Alexander ?  He sacked nation after nation, with blood , rape and carnage. Whats so "Great" about such destruction ? But looked from a oriental point of view where numerous " Ahingsha " or non-aggression movements had their births, these "Great" feats are abhorred and deemed inhuman.

Let us not forget, the great Chandragupta of the Mauryan Empire who brought peace and security to India for a considerable amount of time, and the great Chanakkya whose treaties ' Artha Shastra' forms the basis of Indian governance ( comparable to the treaties ' Republic' by Plato) were contemporaries to Alexander. These characters in history were rubbing shoulders with Alexander, and both sides were prepping for war. Yet there is no mention of Alexander in any of the ancient Indian texts. There is a deliberate attempt not to mention Alexander in Indian history. Why?

There is a renowned Bangla nursery rhyme that is known to all Bengali speaking people. But what is not known is that this nursery rhyme is actually a call to arms, if you may a 'Battle - Hakka'. A war cry to stand up against the 'Great' Alexander.

Our story begins with this nursery rhyme, or rather the genesis of it....and boy , do we have a story to tell !

Together with Chris Moore, we plan to tell this story , that is so relevant for history and specially for our current world affairs and insufferable wars these days. We plan to finance this effort through Patreon. We shall publish each chapter , starting with the Prologue. As we reach our seven hundred dollar mark we will use it to finance the following chapter and so on. There are forty two chapters currently on the board. so we have a long way to go. Please support us, if you like what you are reading then do contribute and tell others to participate.

An attempt to shed light on the truth.....and an ode to true peace heroes rather than egotistic war maniacs...
