About

Greetings all! A couple years ago, I was a strip club D.J. (best job ever!) and lived a truly exceptional life. But I was finding my passion for the job disappearing. And then I saw the first episode of Cosmos with Neil deGrasse Tyson and it changed the course of my life. Made some big moves in my life and created a website called UpportunityU.com, that works on sharing everything from space news and interviews to lecture and museum reviews, as well as climate change info. I'm expanding it to add travel, fitness, charities, and more. As I learn more, so does the vision! :D Glad to be a part of the community.

So I'm doing the Everest Base Camp trek and in my group are 4 Aussie guys. And guy what they've been listening to every night since they started their trip in Nepal? StarTalk Radio! So when we get to Everest BC, we're gonna take a video listening to StarTalk and I'll post it on YouTube and on here. Can't wait to share it with you guys!

StarTalk Radio Now that sounds like a video we'll be adding to our YouTube favorites. Good luck, climb safe, and tell us how the stars look from the Himalayas. Keep Looking Up!

Key and Peele's Spoof of Neil deGrasse Tyson Was Astronomically Brilliant

Tonight's episode of Key & Peele was pretty geeky overall-there was a long sequence about Game of Thrones, which would have been the best bit of any normal episode. But the penultimate Key & Peele ...

There's some NSFW language in the beginning, but I laughed so hard I cried. I figured other Neil fans would appreciate it. :) http://io9.com/key-and-peeles-spoof-of-neil-degrasse-tyson-was-astrono-1728413613

Thought I'd share this. One of my favorite parts of Cosmos is the last episode where they bring back the Pale Blue Dot. After a year of immersion into the world of space, and science, in general, it's still one of my favorite things to listen to. It reminds me not only to keep moving forward and that I can achieve anything, but that my problems, the WORLD's problems, are so very small in the scheme of things. Just the fraction of a dot. :) I think this animation is just wonderful.

StarTalk Radio What a wonderful video! Did you notice that "every mother and father" are the people pictured on Voyager's Golden Record? :) And now for something silly and off topic. At the Pluto Flyby last month at APL, there were two parking lots - red and blue. We (media) had to park in the "Blue Lot." This quickly became known amongst my friends and me as the "Pale Blue Lot." It was really funny :) (well...maybe this is one of those "you had to be there" things, I don't know!) - Stacey from StarTalk

Ron Sparkman Yes indeed! I love that the music from the Golden Records are now available. So awesome! I also love that Neil is finishing his lectures with it now. I go to see him a few months back and it was goosebump-inducing to hear his rendition! Definitely still funny. How could you not make the correlation?! Love it.
