I write Slate Star Codex, a blog about psychiatry, rationality, politics, and terrible wordplay.

I resent being guilted into giving money for online content and I know some of my readers are financially insecure. So: please don't feel any pressure at all to donate. I have a day job, I'm not in any trouble, and the blog is mostly self-supporting thanks to some very kind volunteers.

If you seriously have more money than you know what to do with, please give it to charity. If you seriously have more money than you know what to do with, and you've already given as much as you feel like to charity, and you can't think of anything better to do with the rest of it than give it to me, then, well, now you can.

I usually write about ten blog posts a month, but I won't charge you for open threads and meetup announcements and such.
