Is there an actual waiting period of movies that you have the ability to create Plinkett reviews around? It's one thing to screen capture approved clips and trailers for Half in the Bag, but to basically use any moments from the film itself and edit it into the review seems like it needs more time. Also, would you ever do a meet-up at something like the Milwaukee Film Festival? I know you had a panel three years ago but even if it was some informal thing it would be great, I'm about 1 1/2 hours away and would definitely make the trip.

Red Letter Media No, there's waiting period. We have a better understanding of fair use laws now than we did when we first started, so we have a general sense of what we can and can't do. No plans for any sort of public appearances at the moment.

Would you guys ever potentially make a new show/segment talking about any major, critically acclaimed (or at least mass appeal) films pre 2011? Lately I've been watching movies of the last decade and then hoping to hear your take on it only to realize there's not a Half in the Bag for the 2000's. I guess the closest thing to this would be the commentary tracks you upload from time to time, but just curious to see if anything like this could ever develop

Red Letter Media No plans to start up a new show or anything right now. We tend to bring up older films in our Half in the Bag discussions from time to time and I'm sure we'll do more episodes in the future like the Robocop one where we just dedicate a whole episode to a great older movie. Plus, yeah, commentary tracks.

So I'm listening to the Judge John Hodgman podcast on my walk tonight, which is a GREAT show if you haven't heard it and you love John Hodgman like all right thinking folk should, and the episode was titled "Science Friction": one girl was trying to get her friend to start liking sci-fi, and John Hodgman mediates the argument like a judge. And LO! In the middle of the show! While shitting on THE PHANTOM MENACE, the whole gang -- which included legendary sci-fi television writer Jane Espenson (Buffy, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, etc.) -- they ALL started talking about the 90 Minute Phantom Menace Review, and Plinkett, and all your genius insights into that film. Talked about y'all for five solid minutes. Really made my day. Some of your videos, like the Lone Ranger HiTB, don't have a youtube version, so there's no way to watch it currently. There's two Half in the Bag episodes that got overlooked when we were adding the back catalogue to youtube (Lone Ranger and Warm Bodies episodes), but they'll be added. Alexander Page I'm pretty sure the language was Cantonese, which would make it a pre-reunification Hong Kong video. I lived in Guangzhou for a while, where they speak Cantonese as well, but it's a few years ago now, and I have had no opportunity to practice, so I completely lost all the Cantonese I knew.
