Andres Reano I'm just having issues with chamber switching playing one set of notes then making a mess of the sound by changing chambers. The ergonomics of the songbird ocarina of time double feel a little off because of the second chamber but I'll get use to it

Andrew Leeder I'd enjoy those lessons too. Though I started my ocarina practice only around 2 weeks ago and I'm watching David's videos several times each to feel competent at reading and playing the music. So probably learn double is a little while away for me

Here's a little feedback on the latest octalk (part three). First, I really like how you are structuring these lessons. I have been playing various musical instruments for years, but for the beginner I think your pacing is really good (and this is a series for beginners, after all). Many people who learn ocarina don't learn sheet music or how to practice with a metronome, but I believe these are important skills for people learning any instrument to have, so I am glad you are teaching these things. I think that the hardest thing for most people to learn is how to learn and practice effectively (or even figure out what to learn and practice), but by teaching how to read music you are widening the range of material which we can practice and learn from. I remember on one of your songbird podcasts you talked about making the most of your ocarina, and that has been really helpful to me. Maybe you could talk about how to practice effectively or make the most of your instrument during one of the octalks. Good job so far! This series is really great, and I am excited to see where it goes.

As someone who is both self taught and has studied music formally, I know the value of a strong foundation in music theory, so thanks for mentioning that (and also supporting it). Yes, I have a lot of ideas for more advanced episodes (like the one you mentioned on practicing), so I'll try to squeeze in some additional videos, maybe a few quick videos just for my Patrons :)

Heya David I'm posting this here instead of a message because it might interest other people as well. I'm thinking about going for the 25$ tier with the lessons, because it's impossible to get ocarina lessons where i live (believe me, i have tried. I found 2 "teachers" in all of Switzerland, one of them hardly had any idea at all and the other only works with english pendants). I only have time in the evening and on weekends for the lesson, with CET as a timezone. Would that even be possible for you?
