About

Hi dears!
Thanks for considering to join my initiative of creating the Pottercycle:)! I am a hiking guide and ecotourism developer from Armenia with Artist and Yoga background, who has traveled the World excessively and decided to finally settle in the mountains of Armenia, to help a cute little village to transform from a regular habitat with tons of social issues into a wonderful self-sustainable ecovillage from where nobody wants to go away, just the other way round! The Pottercycle (bicycle-powered hybrid pottery device for social change) I am planning to create is meant to help me in that mission, because doing pottery is lots of fun (people always need fun;-) ) and it's a useful skill (everyone uses cups and plates and stuff) that helps you focus your mind in a very healthy way. But of course the main focus is not to save the planet by making cups and plates; it's about changing peoples' attitudes through an easy, fun and entertaining interaction powered by Pottercycle. It's about replicating the main movement of celestial bodies - the spinning - with our own hands and feet to regain our connection to nature, it's about using our senses (touch, smell, sight, hearing etc) in a harmonious way, and about getting together in a creative atmosphere to share stories and to empower each otherPottery is also quite an active way to massage our hands via holding the rotating clay, and it has a number of health benefits. Interaction with clay by itself is already a healthy thing, completely neglected in modern-day lifestyle, so I intend to reactivate that useful piece of reality. This Pottercycle is going to be the upgrade of the one I've already made and tested a few years ago. It is basically a mechanical device with two working modes - static and dynamic. In static mode it has its back wheel elevated on a stand in order to allow free rotation of the wheel, so that an additional chain will rotate the pottery wheel mechanism attached in a certain angle to the handlebar. The dynamic version of this mechanism works already without elevating the back wheel, with a different angle, and with two added things - elbow-holders on handlebars and battery to collect electricity while cycling and then to power up the motor of the wheel when making pottery on the go, without having to pedal at the same time. Yes, making pottery on the go! I've done that, and I'm going to do it again!:)
So, thanks again for being here, wish me good luck and follow the updates!

Here is a short film about a number of important things I believe in. The film also features my first dynamic Pottercycle, which I am aiming to rebuild with a number of upgrades:
