Main cast on an unfinished spaceship interior set a few weeks before filming
What is Video Fever?Video Fever is a puppet show where a couple of gamers are abducted by aliens and forced to play video games non-stop until they can prove that their favorite pastime is a harmless diversion. Unfortunately, their captors aren’t necessarily the smartest aliens in the galaxy and proving their case may be harder than expected.
Did we mention puppets? Video Fever is a puppet show in the legendary Muppet style, where puppets and humans co-exist and interact. In our universe, all aliens are portrayed by puppets and we hope to meet as many of them as we can. All our puppets are made in-house and we strive to build them to professional quality standards.
This is the type of show we’ve always wanted to make because it's the type of show we've always wanted to see. It’s ostensibly a show about video games, but our primary focus is on the wacky world of sci-fi puppets and delivering a funny narrative. We’ve long been inspired by icons like Futurama and Mystery Science Theater 3000, and we’d love the opportunity to create our own unique take on the genre. As a sci-fi show and a gaming show, Video Fever is intended to be fun and positive. It is our deepest hope to bring you a little bit of joy and brighten up your day.
Why Patreon?Patreon allows fans to directly support creators with monthly donations, and it's just about the only way we could make a show like ours a reality.
The purpose of this show isn't to make money, but unfortunately we need money in order to make more of the show. YouTube's payment system does not favor productions that take a lot of resources to make and release infrequently, so Patreon is a requirement to keep new episodes coming.
Rewards? If you choose to join our Patreon community (thank you, by the way) we'll do our best to keep you up to date on what we're working on with production update blog posts and some behind-the-scenes videos.
We have some other bonuses for folks who choose to contribute more (thanks again) in the form of early episode access for $10 a month and your name in the credits for $20 a month.
This page is our primary way of communicating with fans, so if you like what we're doing and would like to be a part of it we urge you to sign up, get updates, and chat with us about it.
Release Schedule? We're still figuring out the pace at which we'll be able to release content. That said, we'd like to have a big, full length numbered episode release every other month or so, though you should expect them to be a little more spread out than that at first. These are in-universe episodes around 10 minutes long, each one themed around a particular video game, system, or series. In the off months we'll generally try to release something, but exactly how that's going to work out hasn't been set in stone yet.
In a nutshell: no promises, but we're putting every free hour we have into moving forward and creating content for you and we expect our release frequency to increase over time as we fall into a production rhythm.
